Fear surged like a tide, Josie struggled desperately, her nails scratching bloodstains on the man’s face.
“Asshole!”
A slap landed hard on her face, ringing in her ears. The man took the opportunity to pull down her shoulder strap and his dirty hand reached under her skirt-
“Bang!”
She grabbed the fire extinguisher and smashed it on the other person’s head!
Taking advantage of the moment when the villain was in pain and loosened his grip, she stumbled out of the door.
When Josie dragged her battered body back to the deck, the guests were still chatting and laughing.
Adam was standing next to the champagne tower with Jessica, and they were talking about something. Jessica covered her mouth and chuckled softly, her eyes sparkling.
“Bang!”
A loud slap interrupted all the sounds!
Jessica covered her face and staggered backwards, staring at him in disbelief, “You…”
“Josie! Adam grabbed Josie’s wrist. “What are you doing?“”
She shook off his hand, her voice trembling. “She hired beggars to insult me.”
The whole audience was in an uproar!
Jessica’s tears fell instantly: “I didn’t do it! Ms. Hacitt, I know you hate me, but how could you slander me like this…”
“Click.”
Josie pressed play on the recording she had just made on her phone.
Ms. Meane asked me to come… She said she wanted to ruin your reputation!
The beggar’s sinister laughter could be clearly heard in the recording.
Adam’s face instantly darkened like ink: “Jessica!”
“I thought you only admired vanity, but I didn’t expect you to be so malicious. What did Josie do to offend you? Today is her birthday, inviting you over was already her kindness, and yet you could still do such a thing!”
Facing Adam’s scolding, at that moment, Jessica no longer pretended.
She suddenly burst into laughter, “Yes! It was me who did it!”

She was knocked down by the rushing crowd and bloodstains were wiped out in her palm.
When Adam ran past Jessica while holding her, he didn’t even look at
her.
The sea breeze blew Josie’s wet hair away from her forehead. She felt the warm bloodstain, unsure if it was from the struggle just now or a new injury.
She watched the direction where the ambulance was leaving and suddenly smiled.
As she laughed, tears started flowing from her eyes.
Adam, you said you didn’t love Jessica, you loved Josie.
