Chapter 12
Adam knew he had to go back to this house.
Throughout this week, he took care of Jessica without leaving her side. He told himself it was out of guilt, after all, Jessica had jumped into the sea because of something he had said. If anything happened, he wouldn’t be able to escape responsibility.
It was like this, just like this.
So staying to take care of her was just out of duty, not anything else.
Just this week, his Josie didn’t look for him again.
Why?
Josie’s indifference, Adam couldn’t say whether it was good or bad. His Josie was generous, so he didn’t think too much. He should have been happy
Every night, he would open his phone’s contact list, only to find that her chat box remained empty.
Did she not care about herself anymore?
Did she not care about herself anymore?
He was upset and agitated.
When the police came to take Jessica away during the day, Adam only then realized that Josie had not dropped the case.
17-
This was the first time he had heard about Josie in seven days.
While waiting for the green light. Adam saw a flower shop on the side of the road. He realized that he hadn’t sent flowers to Josie for a long time, so he hesitated for a moment and then got out of the car.
The owner of the flower shop saw him and warmly asked who the flowers were for. Adam didn’t answer, he casually looked around and saw the roses blooming beautifully on the side, so he pointed to them.
“Help me wrap up that rose.”
The boss nodded and carefully wrapped it for him.
Adam paced around the room, and the boss, being a shrewd person, could tell at a glance that he seemed to want something more, unable to resist pitching.
“We have some other flowers over here, all blooming very nicely. Would you like to take another look, sir?”
Adam looked around. “Do you have lilies?”
“Of course, of course! nodded the shop owner.”
“Tulips, lilies, calla lilies, and hyacinths help me make a bouquet… Adam said, then added. “Wrap it up nicely, for visiting the patients.”
Yes, I brought flowers for Jessica just because she was a patient, that’s
all
The roses were placed on the passenger seat, with another bunch on the back seat. Adam had already planned it out when he got back home, he would see the flowers and then try to sweet–talk Josie She would definitely forgive Jessica.
He took a photo of the rose and was about to send it to Josic. However. as soon as the picture was sent, he received a bright red exclamation
mark
“The other party has enabled friend verification. You are not yet their friend. Please send a friend verification request first. After the other party verifies it, you can start chatting.”
What?
Adam couldn’t believe it. He lowered his head to dial Josie’s number, but was interrupted by the impatient honking behind him.
The green light is on.
Adam muttered under his breath as he searched for the call logs and drove forward. The moment he dialed the phone, a Cayenne next to him suddenly lost control.
“The phone you dialed is currently not being answered, please try again later…”
The cold electronic sound was the last thing Adam heard.
