Chapter 13
The wedding was approaching, Josie’s parents had passed away long ago, so she only informed Sally among relatives and friends.
When the invitation was sent out, Sally was on vacation with her Alex in Maldives.
“Josic, have you really thought this through? came the sound of waves crashing against the rocks behind Sally, in bursts. Josic didn’t find it noisy, the sound of the waves mixed with the voice of her friend made Josie feel incredibly at peace.”
“Josie, don’t worry. If you don’t want to marry him, there is still a way out. Sally was not joking. During the time she and her boyfriend were wandering outside, she was also thinking about this issue. She would never stand by and watch Josie jump from one fire pit to another.”
She was powerless to help her own brother, ever since she met Josie, she knew she was the gentlest person, unwilling to easily let others know if she was wronged. She had seen how much her brother meant to her and how much she had sacrificed for him in the past, so she knew that when Josie suddenly said she wanted to leave, it must have been because she could no longer bear it.
“Don’t worry Sally, Josie reassured Sally, “Eric is not as bad as the rumors say, he is actually quite easy to get along with.”
“Besides, I really wanted to have a home.”
Sally paused, she knew what Josie meant After a long silence, she said, “I can’t show up at your wedding, but I’ll send my boyfriend to

support you. I’ll be outside too, so don’t forget about me. And make sure to bring me a glass of wedding wine when you get a chance.”
Her voice was full of guilt: “Josic, I’m so sorry for my brother, my happiness now is also thanks to your sacrifice, I really don’t know how
to…”
“Don’t say that, Sally. Josie interrupted him softly, “I have never blamed you, and I don’t feel like I am sacrificing myself either.“”
“I can’t force things with your brother, he doesn’t love me either. Choosing to marry Eric was my own decision.”

Perhaps the rumored Eric was too scary, so Sally’s escape this time wast considered tacitly approved by her parents. As long as the Acker family didn’t ask for her back, they pretended nothing had happened. The Deantt family’s parents still loved their daughter very much, but at the thought of them. Josie couldn’t help but sigh.
Her parents passed away a long time ago, so she always approached Adam’s parents with caution, hoping to gain their approval. However, after so many years together with Adam, they were always critical of themselves, believing that they were not good enough for their son.
“What kind of wild child doesn’t have parents to raise them? They even dare to flirt with our Adam. They should reconsider their desire to climb the social ladder!”
But without parental upbringing, didn’t he still get into one of the top three schools in the country like your son?
However, when it came to his parents‘ unfounded malice towards him, Adam never stood on his own side. He always said. “They are getting old, and in the future, they won’t live with us. You should be more
accommodating towards them.”
It was just his seemingly indifferent attitude, which might as well have been a way of taking sides.
Josie didn’t want to think about it anymore.
She felt that she would have a good time by Eric’s side.
