hapter 16
Charleson noticed something was wrong, he straightened Caroline’s body and a hint of seriousness appeared between his usually gentle brows.
“Caroline, you seem to be particularly concerned about your legs, even during the previous car accident. Can you tell me why?”
Charleson thought that the reasons behind this must not be simple. The few of them definitely had deeper connections.
Caroline stared at him blankly, realizing that she was indeed too obvious, had he seen through her so quickly?
But could she tell him? If she told him, would he believe?
After all, the idea of being reborn sounds absurd and almost like something made up.
Seeing Caroline’s hesitation, Charleson did not rush her, but waited quietly.
He knew that she would eventually speak up if she wanted to.
In the end, Caroline shook her head and said, “I’ll tell you later. Can you take me back now?”
Upon hearing this, the doctor who had been silent all along spoke up, “Sister, he is much more seriously injured than you. Are you still asking him to take you back?”
Chapter 16
Pretending not to see the boy’s hints, she finished speaking and then continued on her way.
Upon hearing the doctor’s words, Caroline suddenly remembered.
Yes, when he just saved her, he was hit by the lamp, and only got scratched by the glass that splashed up.
Caroline wanted to go see his leg, but was stopped by Charleson.
“It’s okay, it’s okay. How could a girl like you lift a boy’s pants?”
Caroline blushed at what he said, glared at him angrily, and couldn’t help but feel a little hurt.
This boy was a stranger to her, having only met him twice, but he still saved her twice.
Even to save herself from getting hurt, she had tears in her eyes again and whispered, “I’m sorry…”
Charleson touched her hair and still spoke with a cheerful and sunny voice, “It’s okay, and I actually didn’t hurt very much…”
Seeing Caroline still keeping her head down and remaining silent, he smiled and stood up, pretending to help her off the bed.
“Okay, I really feel sorry for what I said, please treat me to a meal.”
Caroline saw him pat his stomach, and a smile crept into the corners of her eyes.
“I’m so hungry. I didn’t have lunch today. Let’s go eat, and then I’ll walk you back to your dorm after we finish.”
Caroline nodded apologetically, even though she was the one who was less injured, she still expected him to comfort and help her.
If there is a chance in the future, it’s better to tell him everything.
After all, he was the one who had saved himself twice. He couldn’t possibly be injured and not even have the right to know the reason.
After making up her mind, Caroline instantly felt much more relaxed.
She looked up at Charleson and said, “Let’s go, let’s eat.”
The two of them supported each other as they walked out of the medical room, and they happened to meet Joshua, who had come to pick up Caroline.
“Carol, I came to pick you up and take you back to the dormitory.”
