“Picking up my family,” Marissa said calmly.
Jonathan frowned, got out of bed, and grabbed her hand. “Why the suitcase just to pick someone up?”
“My brother’s taking me on a trip soon. I figured I’d drop it off now.” She lied without missing a beat.
Jonathan did not suspect a thing. As he changed out of his pajamas, he said hurriedly, “I’ll change my clothes and then go with you.”
Marissa stopped him. “No need. Let’s deal with everything after the banquet.
“If you come now, my uncle might change his mind and not show up.”
Jonathan paused and buttoned his shirt again. He then nodded and said, “You’re right. Go ahead. I’ll wait for you at the venue.”
After watching him drive off, Marissa quietly called a cab to the airport.
An hour later, she boarded her flight without a hitch.
Looking at Jonathan’s photo on her phone’s lock screen, she wanted to tell him that she knew everything.
Yet, in the end, she said nothing.
Just as the flight attendant reminded passengers to switch off their devices or turn on airplane mode, Marissa calmly deleted everything that had anything to do with Jonathan and then powered off her phone.
The plane began to rise, soaring gently above the clouds.

Chapter 10
Jonathan drove towards the venue and saw from a distance that the group of friends was already waiting at the entrance.
He had just gotten out of the car when a group of people surrounded
him.
Jonathan pushed through the crowd and walked towards the venue. He led the way, with his friends following eagerly behind.
“Jonny, it’s almost time, where’s the video?”
Jonathan stopped in his tracks and slowly took out his phone from his suit pocket.
Watching a group of people eagerly staring at his phone, Jonathan put his phone back into his pocket and said softly, “I’m not going to send it.”
“What?” The crowd looked at Jonathan in surprise, not understanding what he meant.
They couldn’t help but ask, “Jonny, why? After planning for so long, why do you say you won’t send it?”
“Yeah, Jonny. Don’t joke with us! Today is a great opportunity for Chet to bow down to you!”
Jonathan listened to the questions from the crowd, feeling a bit impatient.
Chapter 10
“I just didn’t want to post it, so what! There are plenty of videos, I’ll post it whenever I want, why so many words?”
The friends fell silent when they saw Jonathan looking a little angry, and they dared not ask any more.
Someone couldn’t help but mutter quietly, “Jonny has never cared so much about a woman before, could he really have fallen in love with
her?”
Another person clenched their fist, mustering up the courage to speak
out.
“Jonny, if you want to be our friend, just tell us the truth, what exactly…”
“I didn’t!” Jonathan suppressed his anger and interrupted the man.
His eyes were sharp, scanning every person present.
“I’ll say it again, I did whatever I wanted to do. Enough, bro, don’t ask me again.”
The crowd was stunned by his momentum, and for a moment, no one dared to speak.
Jonathan continued to walk towards the field, and the others quickly followed behind, forming a circle.
Jonny, don’t be angry, we were just concerned about you.
“Yes, yes,” one person spoke up, and the others quickly chimed in.
The banquet had been almost set up, and as Jonathan looked at the decorations around him, his brow furrowed even more.

He pointed at the balloons on the wall, his voice slightly displeased, “Some of these balloons have deflated, blow some new ones.”
She pointed to the ambient lights around again, “Change them to pink, she likes it.”
“Drunk driving is prevalent here, be careful even when walking, don’t get hit.”
“Where are the gifts, the bought gifts? Bring them all over here and set them up.”
The staff at the venue and the planning team were being directed in a chaotic manner.
The group of friends stood in the corner, looking bewildered.
They whispered to each other, “Jonny must have fallen in love with that woman. He had never been like this before.”
“I also thought it was planned to embarrass Chet, but now they are even hosting a party for Valentine’s Day.”
Some of them touched their chins, some scratched their heads, and others sighed while leaning on the dining table.
Jonathan watched as the banquet was being arranged according to his wishes, and he took out a beautifully wrapped gift box from his pocket.
There was a diamond ring the size of a pigeon egg in it.
He pulled a female staff member over and asked in a gentle voice, “If it were you, would you like this ring?”
The staff member covered his mouth and said excitedly, “You will like

it, and your girlfriend will definitely like it too.”
Jonathan laughed inwardly when he heard it, and his friends also ran
over
After seeing the ring in the box, she exclaimed in surprise.
“Wasn’t that the ring that sold for ten million at the auction a few days. ago? Jonny, you’re the mysterious person!”
“No way, Jonny! What are you doing?”
Jonathan’s smile faded as he coldly said, “Without putting in any effort, how could she follow me so devotedly.”
Friends patted their chests, breathed a sigh of relief, and one person. put his arm around his shoulder.
“Jonny, indeed he was rich and generous!”
Jonathan didn’t answer, he carefully scanned every corner of the venue after putting away the gift box.
His heart was a little excited and a little nervous.
This banquet was very important to him, it was not just a simple retaliation against Chet.
