Chapter 3 She’s Pregnant
Fabian asked. “You’re gonna move back just like this? Won’t they be worried?”
Giselle covered her chest, trying hard to fight back the feeling of nausea. “You think they won’t be worried after knowing about our divorce?”
She didn’t know why, but she had been feeling sick these days, Besides, she had lost all her appetite and had become touchy.
Fabian was slightly stunned. It was the first time Giselle had spoken to him so loudly. She had always been docile and gentle.
“Gigi, I’ll make it up to you. You’ll be set up for life. Also, we can stay friends after the divorce, and I’ll help you whenever you need.”
Giselle smiled, “Thank you.”
Little did he know that money had never been what she wanted.
“Gigi. you look terrible. Let me help you upstairs to get some rest.” Fabian extended his hands.
She pushed them away, saying, “No need. I’m perfectly capable of going upstairs myself.”
“Stop playing tough. Have you been skipping meals while I was away?” He stubbornly placed his hands on her slender waist, feeling she had lost a lot of weight over the past few days.
Chapter 3 the Pregnant
Giselle said nothing and went upstairs to pack up. Fabian had sent her a lot of gifts over these years, but she didn’t pack any of them.
Fabian stood behind her, gazing at her while she packed up her clothes. Her back was thin but exceptionally resolute.
Maybe she had been crouching for too long. As she stood up, she felt dizzy and then lost consciousness before she realized it.
When she opened her eyes, she was in the hospital, and the doctor had just given her a nutrient injection.
She was so skinny that the nurses couldn’t find the veins on the back of her hands when giving her shots. Bruises stood out on both her hands.
“Giselle. your hand is bleeding. Press this cotton swab on it.”
Jarrett Hurley, Fabian’s friend from childhood, handed her a swab.
Giselle grabbed his hand so desperately that she almost fell from the bed.
“Jarrett, I need a favor. Give me a morning–after pill. I can’t afford to be pregnant!” She wanted to go to the pharmacy in the morning but passed out later. Once over twenty–four hours, morning–after pills would be useless.
“I’m sorry to break this to you, Giselle, but you’re already pregnant.” Jarrett looked at her sickly pale face. Perhaps due to the pregnancy, she was even thinner, and those big, round eyes on her face made her even more pitiful.
“What?” Giselle’s face instantly became ghastly pale, and even her lips were bloodless. She gawked at him, finding it hard to accept the truth.

Fabian was never a fan of using protection, but she had always been careful. Except once when he got drunk and forced her…
“Jarrett, Fabian and I are getting a divorce. I can’t keep the baby,” she said through tears while stroking her abdomen, though she couldn’t feel a thing.
Her baby came at a bad time…
“Because of Tatiana?” Jarrett asked.
“Yes.” She gave a nod.
“Giselle, your physical condition isn’t ideal. With your thin uterine lining, this might be your only shot at being a mother. Are you sure about this?”
Giselle parted her lips but couldn’t utter a word.
Jarrett continued, “Maybe you should focus on recovering and make a decision after you think it through.”
“Please, Jarrett, don’t tell Fabian I’m pregnant.” If Fabian knew, he’d probably ask her to get an abortion.
“OK.” Jarrett nodded.
Soon, Fabian came into the ward and stroked Giselle’s forehead gently.
“Are you feeling unwell?” he asked softly.
He was as gentle and considerate as ever, which brought tears to her
eyes.
“What’s wrong, Gigi?”
She didn’t know what to say and could only tilt her body away while sobbing, not wanting him to see how fragile she was.
Now that they were getting a divorce, she was pregnant. What should she do with the baby?
