Chapter 11 Her Most Beautiful Fantasy
“Gigi? Why are you back?” Giselle’s parents were very surprised to see
her.
“Dad, Mom, hi. Fabian is away on a business trip. I happened to pass by, so I thought I’d stay with you guys for some time.” Giselle didn’t have the courage to tell them about the divorce right now, and she I didn’t want to worry them.
“That’s a relief. We thought you two fought,” Wesley Mueller said. He was Giselle’s father.
“No. Fabian’s been good to me. Why would we fight?” She forced a smile.
Two years ago, their family’s company had nearly gone bankrupt. because of a broken capital chain. It was Fabian who helped in time. Besides, he had been helping them a lot over the past two years. He didn’t owe them anything.
During those two years, Fabian had been nothing but good to her, and they even agreed to be friends after the divorce. She didn’t hate him.
“Dad, Mom, I’ll study abroad soon.”
Wesley was surprised. “What? Why? It’s so sudden.” Giselle had a great academic performance, and her parents knew she had been offered the chance to go abroad. But she had said she didn’t want to live apart from Fabian and would turn down the opportunity.
“Dad, though I’m set up for life after marrying Fabian, I don’t wanna
give up my dreams just like that. I’m not housewife material.”
“Gigi, are you sure? What’s wrong with being a good wife and supporting Fabian’s career? You have no idea how much our relatives. envy you for finding such a great husband.” Kaitlin Sandoval, Giselle’s mother, tried to persuade her.
Giselle thought, “But I’m no longer Fabian’s wife. They’ll mock me after they know.”
Wesley patted her shoulder. “Gigi, feel free to do whatever you want. I’m looking forward to the day when I hand you the company.”
Wesley had different expectations from Kaitlin. They had made a lot of effort before finally raising Giselle, who turned out to be so perfect. And of course, he hated to see Giselle’s talent being wasted. Though she had married into the Mercado family, he still thought she should be independent. Relying totally on the Mercado family would be silly.
After convincing Wesley and Kaitlin, Giselle came back to her room.
It was another sleepless night. But her home was her last defense, and she could cope with anything with her parents‘ support.
Ever since Fabian had brought up the divorce, it had been a week since she had had a good sleep. After getting home, she slept for a whole day and night.
Wesley and Kaitlin were worried since Giselle didn’t get up to eat.
“What’s up with her? Did she have a row with Fabian?”
“I thought something was off when she suddenly came back last night. Ill call Fabian to find out.”
Fabian was in a meeting when he received Wesley’s call, so he didn’t
answer,
Wesley grew even more worried. “Fabian didn’t pick up. Did they really have a fight? But Gigi has always been so good–tempered. This makes no sense.”
“Dad? Mom? What are you guys talking about?” Just then, Giselle walked downstairs.
She slept poorly. Lying in bed, she felt sick and couldn’t breathe. Besides, she was still nauseous. Since she was pregnant, she didn’t have much appetite, and her stomachache continued to bother her. She wanted to get up and walk around.
It was the first time in her life she had felt this uncomfortable. Beyond the physical discomfort, her heartache was the true torment.
Fabian shattered her most beautiful fantasy. He ruined her life.
“Gigi, tell me the truth. What’s going on between you and Fabian? He didn’t even answer Wesley’s call,” Kaitlin said.
“Mom, he’s away on a business trip. Isn’t this perfectly normal? Should I try him?”
She then called Fabian in front of Kaitlin and Wesley. Fabian probably had been out of the meeting, so he answered very quickly.
“What’s up, Gigi?” His voice was deep, mixed with concern.
“Nothing serious. Dad and Mom thought we had a fight, and I’m just trying to reassure them.” she said before hanging up.
Kaitlin and Wesley were relieved to know there was nothing wrong

between Fabian and Giselle.
Chapter 12 A Class Reunion
Giselle said, “Mom, is there any food left in the kitchen? I’m a bit hungry.”
“Yes. We saved some for you in the microwave. I’ll go head it up,” Kaitlin said.
Giselle continued, “Mom, I’ve been having a weak stomach lately, and the doctor suggested more vegetables. You can leave the fish out.” She might retch again when she smelled fish, and she had no intention of telling Kaitlin and Wesley about the pregnancy yet.
After taking a few bites, she came back to the bedroom and washed up.
Damion texted her, “Gigi, will you show up at the class reunion tomorrow?”
“Yes,” she replied. Getting cooped up at home every day had become a torment, and she wanted some fresh air.
Damion came to pick her up at 9:00 a.m. the next day.
“Morning, Wesley, Kaitlin. I’m here to pick Gigi up.” Damion dressed very formally today. His sharp suit, combined with striking features and a tall, slender body, made him stand out.
Damion’s father and Wesley had served in the military together, and his mother was Kaitlin’s bestie. In the past, Giselle had always thought she’d end up with him.
Since they were going to the class reunion, she dressed up simply,
