Chapter 13 Low Blood Sugar
Fabian and Giselle had first met cach other during a university event.
Back then, she was part of the school’s Publicity Department. At a dinner party one day, someone had tampered with her drink, and then she was sent to Fabian’s bed.
Fabian told her he’d make it up to her. She–ever the conservative type -believed a woman should marry the man she first slept with, so she agreed to be with him. Soon, they married in secret.
Few knew about their marriage.
“Gigi, Fabian isn’t the man for you. Men like him will never be committed to only one woman,” Damion persuaded.
“I know. I’ll divorce him.” Giselle gazed into the distance, her expression unfathomable.
“Great! I’ll marry you,” Damion said quickly.
“Damion, be real. Your parents would never allow you to marry a divorced woman.”
“Gigi, they’re so fond of you. You know that, don’t you? I’m sure they’ll be happy to see us together.”
Just then, they bumped into Tatiana and Madilyn Vaughan, Fabian’s mother.
Giselle had a bad feeling, thinking, “Madilyn has never liked me. Now
that she sees me with Damion, she’ll definitely blow it out of proportion.
“But then again, Fabian and I are divorced. Whatever.”
“Giselle, is this your new boyfriend? He’s so good–looking.” Tatiana keenly spotted Giselle and walked over.
Madilyn didn’t see Giselle at first. In fact, Giselle had always been invisible in her eyes.
She glanced at Giselle and Damion with a reproachful look in her eyes as if she had gotten the goods on Giselle, who had done something shameful.
In the next second, she slapped Giselle hard across the face. “Giselle, you slut! Marrying Fabian is the luckiest thing that has ever happened to you, and here you are, hitting on another man?”
She exerted so much force that Giselle’s cheek was swollen at once.
Giselle was completely caught off guard. She gawked at Madilyn, not knowing how to respond.
Meanwhile, Tatiana felt great secretly. But she frowned with distress. in her eyes. “Madilyn, maybe it’s a misunderstanding. Why would Giselle cheat on Fabian?”
“Filthy people have filthy thoughts. Gigi, let’s go. No need to waste our time on vixens.” Damion held Giselle in his arms and left the mall.
“Giselle, you cheap bitch! You don’t deserve to be part of the Mercado family at all! Divorce Fabian! You won’t get a penny from us!” Madilyn shouted.
Chapter 13 Low Blood Sugar
Giselle said nothing and left while supported by Damion.
Without him, she might have fainted.
Her cheek was still red and swollen.
“Gigi, I’ll take you to the hospital,” Damion said.
“Damion, I’m not feeling well. Could you take me to…” She fainted before she could finish.
When she opened her eyes, Jarrett came into view.
Looking at her, he sighed, “Miscarriage risks are higher in the first- trimester, so I suggest you stay at home and get rest. I’ve prescribed some pills for you–they’re good for your pregnancy.”
“Thanks, Dr. Hurley,” she said.
Soon, Kaitlyn and Wesley came into the ward. They were worried sick. after knowing Giselle had passed out.
“Doctor, how’s Gigi? Is she OK?”
“Yes. Don’t worry. She had low blood sugar, and that’s all. She’ll be fine after resting for a bit.”
Only then did Kaitlin breathe a sigh of relief.
“Low blood sugar? How did that happen? Gigi, have you been skipping meals?” She looked at Giselle with a pained expression. Giselle had lost so much weight recently.
