Chapter 19 Her Parents Find Out She’s Pregnant
“Mr. Mercado, I won’t go this time. Take Tatiana with you. Your mom will probably love her as a daughter–in–law,” Giselle said, her voice flat but tinged with sadness.
In their two years of marriage, Madilyn had always looked down on Giselle. Every visit was filled with snide remarks. Giselle had endured it quietly for two years, but now she just couldn’t take it anymore.
Fabian realized Giselle wouldn’t listen to him anymore. He felt oddly lost. She wasn’t as casy to control as he thought.
Fabian sneered, “Giselle, you climbed into my bed back then. It’s only fair that others will judge you for it.”
His cruel remarks cut her deeply. Giselle thought, “I didn’t want that either. I was drugged and woke up in his bed, realizing that I had slept. with him.”
“Yeah, Fabian. I’m a slut. I had bad intentions. I shouldn’t have climbed into your bed. I deserve to die. I’m not worthy of being your wife. Now that we’re getting a divorce, can’t I do what I want?” Giselle yelled, her eyes bloodshot.
These were the same words Madilyn used to scold her. Giselle had kept them in her heart for so long. Being a daughter–in–law of a wealthy family wasn’t that easy. Kaitlin had always told her to endure, but now she just didn’t want to take it anymore.
They were getting a divorce. There was no point she still put up with Madilyn’s attitude. She wasn’t a pushover!
When Fabian heard how agitated she was on the phone, he parted his thin lips a few times but couldn’t say anything.
“Mr. Mercado, are you ready? The meeting starts in five minutes,” Braxton called from outside the door.
Fabian shouted, “Get out!”
Even through the door, Braxton could sense Fabian’s anger. Fabian had been short–fused lately.
Fabian looked at Braxton and felt like giving him a good beating.
“Mr. Mercado, L…” Braxton stammered. He thought, “I seemed to have done something wrong? Holy crap! I don’t even know what I’ve done. wrong.”
After hanging up, Giselle felt her stomach cramp. She started breathing. heavily and felt dizzy.
That night, Giselle was hospitalized again. It was a threatened
miscarriage.
Kaitlin just found out that Giselle was pregnant.
“Gigi, it’s great that you’re pregnant. Why didn’t you tell Fabian?” she asked.
Giselle’s eyes welled up with tears.
divorce.”
“Mom, Fabian and I are getting a
“What?” Kaitlin exclaimed. She couldn’t believe they were suddenly getting a divorce.
“Fabian’s first crush has come to. They’ll definitely be together. Over
these two years, Fabian’s been good to me. He gave me a lot of money. in the divorce and helped us a lot. He doesn’t owe us anything.”
Kaitlin cursed, “That bastard Fabian! If you’re getting a divorce, why didn’t you use protection?”
Giselle said, “Mom, stop. I’ve already signed the divorce papers. Merry meet, merry part.”
“No, we can’t just let it go. How can he treat you like this? Does he think money solves everything? I don’t care about his money! I’m going to settle the score with that jerk!” Kaitlin was furious.
“Kaitlin, what are you doing? Since Giselle has decided to get a
divorce, we should respect her decision. If you make a scene, it’ll only embarrass Giselle. You know what his mom is like. I don’t want Giselle
to suffer there!” Wesley stopped Kaitlin.
Kaitlin said, “What about the baby? It’s Fabian’s. We don’t want it!”
“The baby is also Gigi’s. She can make the decision. If she gives birth to it, it’ll be a child of the Mueller family, and we can afford to raise it,” said Wesley.
“Wesley, are you stupid? What if Gigi gives birth to the baby and the Mercado family takes it back? Won’t we end up losing out?” Kaitlin
questioned.
