Chapter 3
The next day, Kira planned to submit her resignation.
Back when Harry graduated and wanted to start his own business, no one believed in him, so he asked Kira to help him.
He promised that once he made it, he’d make it up to her. Trusting him, Kira gave up a 300,000–a–year job.
He had no startup capital, so she helped him raise funds. No one gave him projects, so she helped him find clients.
She stood by him from nothing to a net worth in the hundreds of millions, yet to this day, she was still just his 8,000–a–month assistant.
Back then, she liked him, so she was willing to stay as his 8,000–a–month assistant. But now that she’d decided to let go and marry someone else, there was no reason to keep the job.
Kira arrived at the CEO’s office, printed her resignation, and then went to get Harry’s signature.
Before signing, Harry seemed to realize he’d been too harsh with her the day before. He suddenly tossed her a small gift box. “Hey, your birthday’s coming up. Thought I’d give this to you early.”
Kira took the box and opened it.
Inside was a gold necklace. In the past, she would’ve been over the moon. But now, she felt nothing.
She knew the necklace was just a freebie that came with the 50 million blue diamond Harry had bought.

Chapter 3
To him, that’s all she was worth–a freebie.
Like a dog, happy with a tossed bone.
Harry thought she’d be too touched to speak. Instead, her face showed nothing at all.
Kira’s sudden change these past couple of days made Harry frown. Just as he was about to speak, she handed him the resignation letter.
“I need your signature on this.”
He didn’t even look at it before signing his name–perhaps because he trusted her too much or assumed it was just some important contract.
Just as Kira was about to leave with the signed agreement, Harry suddenly felt something was off. He couldn’t help but ask, “What did you. just have me sign?”
Not wanting to explain, Kira waved her hand. “Nothing important. Just a routine agreement.
“Oh, and by the way, I’m taking a few days off and won’t be coming to the company.”
After all, she’d resigned. There was no reason to show up anymore.
“Okay,” Harry agreed without a second thought. He doesn’t want Kira running into his fiancée at the office. If that happens, it will only give him a headache.
Then something occurred to him, and he added, “Make sure you come back right after your vacation. We’ve got a ton of big projects lined up. I’ll need you to help me negotiate them.”
Kira simply gave a quiet “mm–hmm.”
What Harry didn’t know was that after this resignation, she would never set foot in that company again.
As Kira reached the front desk, she ran right into Felicia, Harry’s future wife and the company receptionist.
Felicia was surrounded by coworkers, proudly holding up her fair hand.
“This is the ring my fiancé bought at an auction. It cost 50 million! Gorgeous, isn’t it?
“You probably haven’t seen jewelry this expensive before, so take a good look while you can!”
The diamond ring was indeed stunning, but Felicia was just the company receptionist, more of a decoration than anything else.
background was ordinary.
There was no way she’d have the opportunity to come into contact with a rich man, let alone own a ring worth that much.
People exchanged skeptical looks.
“Is that fake?”
“Yeah, 50 million? Don’t lie to us, Felicia.”
Hearing this, Felicia’s face flushed bright red. She stiffened her neck and snapped, “It’s not fake! Don’t talk nonsense.”
The skeptical stares were unbearable. Suddenly, she seemed to have an idea and quickly pulled a property deed from her bag, slamming it on the
table.
“Besides this diamond ring, my fiancé also bought me a villa in Beverly Hills. Don’t believe me? Go see for yourselves!”

Her coworkers crowded around, flipping through the deed with curiosity.
Seeing it was real–an apartment in Beverly Hills under Felicia’s name- they couldn’t help but envy her.
“Wow, Felicia, you really married into a wealthy family!”
“Which wealthy family did you marry into? Who else can afford a place as pricey as Mr. Fellon’s in Beverly Hills?”
Everyone asked curiously.
Felicia just smiled mysteriously and said they’d find out soon enough who she was marrying.
Others were clueless, but Kira knew perfectly well. Felicia was marrying Harry.
If she remembered correctly, Felicia was Harry’s junior in university, and she was also given special admission by Harry to join the Fellon Group in its very first year.
Harry had planned to groom Felicia as his new assistant, but no matter how hard Kira taught her, Felicia couldn’t even handle simple tasks like stamping documents, let alone manage projects or run personal errands as Kira did.
So soon, Harry gave up on making Felicia his assistant and just
transferred her to the front desk as a decoration.
The irony was that this decoration ended up winning Harry’s heart over Kira.
In the past 12 years she’d been fighting battles for him, Felicia did nothing but stand there and get everything Kira had worked so hard for.
A chill ran through Kira. Her years of hard work for the company and
care for Harry had all become a joke, preparing the way for another
