Chapter 7
Harry urged Kira about the tender proposal almost every day, but she still hadn’t started.
The delay dragged on until the day before Kira’s 30th birthday.
With Kira absent from the company during this period, Harry hired a temporary assistant.
The assistant kept making mistakes, and Harry’s angry growl could always be heard in the office.
“What are you even doing here? Do the job or get out!”
The assistant felt aggrieved. “Kira used to handle this. I’m new and don’t really understand it yet.”
Harry dropped the documents, rubbing his forehead in frustration. “When’s Kira coming back?”
“Didn’t Kira-
Before the assistant could finish, a woman in a floral dress suddenly threw herself into Harry’s arms.
Felicia said excitedly, “Harry, our wedding is tomorrow! I want it to be special. How about we go to City Hall to get our marriage license first?”
Seeing Felicia, Harry tried to push away the frustration he felt from work.
As usual, he tenderly tapped Felicia’s nose. “Okay, whatever you want. As long as you’re happy.”

Felicia smiled sweetly and kissed him on the cheek. “Harry, you’re the
best.”
That night at home, Harry thought for a moment and said to Kira, “Your day off ends tomorrow, right? Is the proposal ready? Once it’s done. tomorrow, send it to our partner. And no matter what happens, don’t come to me. I’ve got some stuff to deal with.”
Harry had already anticipated Kira’s reaction and planned how to handle.
- it.
But to his surprise, Kira didn’t even ask, she just agreed.
He was a bit taken aback. “You’re not going to ask where I’m going tomorrow?”
Kira just smiled and stayed silent.
“You really don’t have anything to ask?” Harry eyed Kira suspiciously.
She nodded. “I do.”
“What?”
“Harry, I’m turning 30 tomorrow. Remember I said that if you didn’t marry me by then, I wouldn’t want you anymore?”
“I know, but that was a joke. Who takes jokes seriously? Besides, the company is still in its early stages. I’m not thinking about that now.”
Hearing Harry’s casual tone, Kira nodded. “Got it.”
Early the next morning, Harry left in a suit.
Watching him go, Kira thought, “This is finally coming to an end.”
Wearing her own wedding dress and leaving a wedding invitation behind,
Kira turned and walked out the door.
“Harry.
“From now on, you go your way.
“And I’ll go mine.
“We’re done.
“I won’t bother you anymore.”
After leaving the apartment, Kira hailed a cab heading straight for City Hall.
Her future was long. She was going to find her own happiness.
When Kira arrived, her fiancé wasn’t there yet, but she ran into Harry.
Behind him followed a group of his friends, probably there to cheer him.
Seeing Kira in her wedding dress, they all broke into odd smiles.
It was the same looks they always gave her when she chased after Harry, a mix of mockery and disdain.
Kira knew they probably assumed she was there for Harry again.
After all, today was her 30th birthday, and she must be there to pressure him into marriage.
Harry’s face darkened the moment he saw Kira in her wedding dress.
He barely held back a twisted expression and shouted, “Didn’t I tell you not to come after me? You really want to marry me so badly that you’re wearing a wedding dress to pressure me?”
Kira ignored his anger and said coldly, “I’m not here for you.”
But Harry didn’t buy it. He looked at Kira with annoyance. “Are you done causing a scene? If you’re not here for me, could you find another man?”
He was certain Kira was still hung up on him and couldn’t live without him.
Harry’s friends sneered as they sized her up. “I never thought I’d see someone so shameless. forcing a marriage right at City Hall’s doorstep.”
As time ticked by, Felicia was about to arrive any minute.
Terrified the two would cross paths, Harry quickly flung Kira’s hand away, and scolded in a low voice, “Be smart and get out of here! Or don’t blame me for being rude!”
Kira stumbled back several steps before steadying herself. She lowered her head, staring blankly at her bruised wrist.
“Today’s my 30th birthday.”
“I know. You want me to marry you on your 30th, but I’ve already told you, the company’s just starting up, and I’m not thinking about that now
“But I can’t wait any longer,” Kira said, lifting her head with calm eyes.
Harry’s face darkened. “Kira, do you understand what I’m saying? There’s no way I’m marrying you today!”
“Oh my God, how can a woman have so little self–respect? Kira, you’re so shameless. Harry’s just unlucky to be stuck with someone like you.” One of Harry’s friends sneered, even pushing Kira roughly.
“If you really want to get married on your 30th birthday, just find anyone else. I’m not marrying you.”
Kira loved him so much. How could she look for someone else?
Chapter 7 N
Harry was sure of that, which made him feel justified in using harsh words to hurt her.
One of the men who had just humiliated her watched the scene and whistled mockingly.
“Kira, why not marry me instead? I’m a bit of a playboy, but I’m pretty good in bed.”
The cheap dirty joke made Kira’s face turn cold.
“No thanks. I’ve got someone else in mind.
“He just got off a flight from abroad. It should be a while before he arrives.”
As soon as Kira said that, Harry and his friends burst out laughing.
“Does this guy even exist? You love Harry so much. How could you marry someone else? Are you just making up stories to fool us?”
Harry frowned as he listened to his friends. Time was running out, and he didn’t want to waste words with Kira.
“Kira, I already told you, I’m not planning to get married right now. Are you deaf or just not listening?”
He desperately wanted her to leave, but no matter what he said, Kira didn’t budge.
“I understand what you’re talking about, Harry. But the person I’m marrying today isn’t you.”
Harry sneered. “You’re lying to force me to marry you?
“Kira, when did you get so annoying?
“Get out of here before I lose patience!”
With a glance from Harry, his friends stepped forward to drag Kira away.
They were incredibly strong, and Kira was pinned down, unable to move.
As Kira struggled to figure out how to break free from their grip, someone suddenly shouted, “Stop!”
