Jacob seemed unable to accept the breakup. He persisted, saying, “I can’t accept this. We’ve shared so many years together. Don’t all those wonderful times mean anything to you?”
“You once promised to love me forever. Why are you walking away now?”
Seeing his hurt expression, I felt nothing. Without hesitation, I phoned the authorities and had him removed.
Later, I sent a message to Daisy, instructing her to take charge of Jacob.
From that moment on, Jacob truly vanished from my life.
During this period, Peter kept crossing my path, whether by chance or design. Though subtle, his growing attraction to me was evident.
I chose to be honest, informing him that I had just ended a long–term relationship and wasn’t prepared for a new one.
But Peter remained undeterred. He responded that he was willing to wait, as he had already been waiting for a decade.
It was then that I discovered we had met before. Years ago, when I had just started working and could afford ski lessons, I first encountered Peter. At that time, he was overwhelmed by his family’s business and had come to the ski resort to unwind. However, he had recklessly taken a dangerous route, falling and hurting himself in an isolated area where no one noticed his predicament.
I happened to witness the incident and quickly alerted the staff, who came to his rescue.
After that, I never saw him again. He told me he had been searching for me ever since, wanting to express his gratitude in person. But I had seemingly vanished, and despite his efforts, he couldn’t locate me.
Years later, he finally spotted me again–on the large screen at my wedding to Jacob. Not wanting to interfere with my life, he kept his distance.
Hearing his account, I was amazed by the coincidence of our connection.
Despite my rejection, Peter didn’t withdraw. Instead, he became a loyal friend, often joining me on outdoor excursions. His warmth and company provided comfort and made him a significant part of my life.
The next update I received about Jacob was two years later. After his arrest that day, Daisy had. personally paid his bail.

However, the incident led to a major dispute between them. In a fit of anger, Jacob shoved Daisy, causing her to lose her unborn child.
Having lost both her partner and her baby, Daisy couldn’t cope with the trauma. In her distress, she drove her car into Jacob, leaving him in a comatosc state.
Daisy was subsequently committed to a psychiatric facility, where she remained for the rest of
her life.
When I learned of their tragic fates, I felt indifferent. To me, they were merely fleeting figures in my life–people who left impressions but could never truly be a part of it.
The End.
