Chapter 10
“Already?” I asked, standing up also, heart racing. “But it’s just been two days since the announcement! How did they get here so fast?”
Killian shrugged. “Honestly, I thought they would be here earlier. Come on now, let’s not keep our visitors waiting.” He said, walking to the door, while I followed behind him. I was not ready for this interaction at all.
mmediately Killian opened the door, Richard burst in, and before I could blink, his arms were around me in a tight hug.
‘Oh June, oh babe. I miss you so much. I’m so sorry.” Richard muttered softly, exhaling in relief.
was tense, and my arms hung limply at my side. From over his shoulder, I could see April trying o hug Killian, but he wasn’t having it. His death glare kept her in place, and she shrunk backwards. I gave him a pleading glance as Richard’s hold was uncomfortable.
‘Richard, I will appreciate it, if you step away from my fiancée.” Killian said coldly, stepping owards us.
Richard tensed, and he pulled away from me slowly with a scowl on his face as he turned to ace Killian. “You have a lot of nerve to utter that crap from your mouth, Killian.” He growled, glaring fiercely at Killian.
Killian lifted an eyebrow giving Richard a cold look. “Well, it is the truth, isn’t it?” he said, stretching his hand to me, and I quickly took it, hurrying to stand at his side, and he wrapped his arm around my waist.
Richard glared darkly at Killian’s arm that was on my waist. “June? I don’t know what kind of Jame the two of you are playing, but I don’t think it’s funny.”
Killian stepped forward, placing me behind him. “And I don’t remember telling you that we’re comedians.” Killian retorted.
April came forward with tears running down her face, “Killian, please stop this. Whatever you saw or heard, we can talk about it, we can work it out. But please, you’re hurting me, my love.”
She sobbed.
Killian stared down at her with a cold unflinching look in his eyes. “We’re done talking, April. You
need to leave.”
‘I have nowhere to go, you’re all I have, Killian! I’m pregnant with your child!” She cried, then she turned to me with accusation in her eyes. “Why, June?! How can you be so heartless to take my husband from me?!”
I scoffed, crossing my arms with a sneer on my face. “I’m just repaying the favour.” I said coldly.
April screeched with hate in her eyes as she lunged at me. “You bitch!”
Killian neatly placed himself between the both of us, effectively blocking her from reaching me.
April dropped to her knees before Killian, sobbing profusely. “Killian, my love, please. I’m pregnant, did you forget? If you won’t do this for me, do this for your unborn child!” She begged.
Killian’s eyes darkened even further. “That thing in your stomach is not mine, and you know it.”

He growled.
April gaped at him in horror. “How… How can you say such a thing, Killian?”
Killian sneered. “Because it’s the truth. When you told me that you were pregnant, I almost laughed at your stupidity. I am sterile, April. I cannot have children.” He said, laughing humorlessly.
My eyes widened at his declaration, but I kept my mouth shut. Killian was sterile, so it meant that… that April’s unborn child was most likely… Richard’s.
Silence fell in the room at Killian’s declaration. April’s face paled, and Richard’s face went slack.
“But…but…” April was speechless. “You…never said anything!”
Killian shrugged nonchalantly. “And I’m glad I never did, because it exposed you”
April kept pleading with Killian, “It doesn’t matter, Killian. We can work it out, we’ll find a way.”
Killian sneered at her, pushing her away from him when she got too close. “Don’t touch me!”
Richard faced me with pleading eyes: “June, what happened was a very big mistake. You know how much I love you, and I know you love me. Our love is strong. This is just a small hurdle that we will cross and become stronger together.”
I crossed my arms, scowling at him. “Unfortunately for you, I’m not interested in doing that. All these while, I’ve been so blind and foolish. I didn’t see that you never loved me. You got April, my sister, pregnant, for goodness sake!”
Richard shook his head, and approached me slowly, but Killian was standing protectively in front of me. “June, please we can’t just behave rashly. You know that Ethan wouldn’t want this, he would want his parents to stay together.”
As Richard mentioned Ethan, rage surged through me, and my eyes flashed as I gritted my teeth. in fury. How dare he mention his name?
“How dare you?” I growled, and he flinched, stepping back. “How dare you mention his name. with your filthy, lying mouth?!” I snapped.
He furrowed his eyebrows like he was confused. “What are you saying? He was my son!”
I stepped forward, poking his chest painfully with my finger. “You don’t deserve to call him your son, you cheating murderer! I know what you did, Richard!” I spat.
His eyes widened slightly, and he exchanged a frantic look with April. “June, I don’t know what you’re-”
I cut him off, poking him harder. “Don’t even think of lying! I heard everything that day you were telling Lucas everything in the office! You killed our son–my son for a liver transplant for April!” | spat, tears running down my eyes as the pain rose up again.
His eyes softened, “Please understand with me, June. Your sister was going to die if I didn’t do anything, June! She’s your older sister!” He tried to explain.
Disgust rose up within me as I watched my ex–husband explain why he had to kill his own son for his lover.
“You disgust me, Richard.” I sneered, staring at him with disgust. “Don’t even think about coming near me! And let me tell you something, Richard, I will not forgive you for this. No, I will make sure you pay for killing my son!”
