After hearing me say these words, Lucas’s brows furrowed tightly. His lips were pressed into a thin line, and his eyes sparked with hatred.
I didn’t want to continue entangling with him, so I turned and went back to my apartment, locking the door behind me.
That night, I calmly called the police, and then, with eerie composure and practiced ease, I slit my wrists to leave this
world.
Truly falling into an endless hell of darkness.

Ten days after my death.
Lucas finally seemed to notice something was wrong, so he prepared to go out and look for me.
But Emma stopped him.

“Lucas, Sophia is probably with her boyfriend now. She’s a grown woman, I’m sure she’s fine.”
Emma knew too well how to dissuade Lucas from looking for me. Sure enough, after hearing this, Lucas abandoned the idea of going out and slumped back onto the sofa.
I clearly saw Emma’s lips curl into a slight smirk behind Lucas’s back.
“But Sophia is really something. She caused Lily’s death, yet she can still date other men with a clear conscience. How can she do this to you all?”
Floating in mid–air, I coldly watched her start to slander me in front of Lucas.
I didn’t want to hear these words anymore, so I floated towards the door.
The pitch–black night enveloped the earth outside the window, and my mind started to think of Gavin.
I suddenly felt a bit sad. If Gavin knew about my death, how would he feel?
To be honest, I didn’t want him to be sad.
He was a good person, and good people should be happy for life.

Just as I was thinking this, Gavin suddenly appeared before me.
He passed through my soul, then knocked on the villa’s door, coldly questioning Lucas about my whereabouts.
“Why are you looking for me? Isn’t Sophia your girlfriend now?”
“Besides, weren’t you two having a great time together?”
His tone was sarcastic and clearly mocking.
Hearing this, Gavin’s face instantly turned cold. He frowned and spoke with extreme dissatisfaction.
“Lucas, I’m not in the mood to discuss this with you. I’ll ask you one more time, where is Sophia now? Do you know she hasn’t contacted me for ten days?”
“She’s been missing for ten days, and you don’t care about her whereabouts at all?”
When Lucas heard this, his breath hitched slightly. A flash of panic crossed his eyes, but it disappeared in the next second.
He quickly regained his composure.
“What a joke. Why should I care about her whereabouts? She killed my sister. I wish she were dead!”
Gavin trembled with anger at these words. He stepped forward, gripping Lucas’s collar tightly, and spoke through gritted teeth.
“Lucas, do you know she has severe depression? Do you know she has serious suicidal tendencies?”
r
So that’s it. Gavin had always known about my condition but never mentioned it to me.
That’s why he was so good to me.
“What did you say?”
“How could Sophia have severe depression?”
Yes.
He had always wanted me dead, so naturally, he wouldn’t care if I had depression or so–called suicidal tendencies.
I should have lived on, enduring his endless torment.
But Lucas, you won’t have the chance to torment me anymore.
Because I’ve already paid with my life, as you wished.

Lucas couldn’t help but wonder, if he hadn’t spoken to Sophia so harshly that night, would the outcome have been
different?
But it wasn’t until he received a call from the police station that he realized he had truly made a mistake.
And he would never have the chance to make up for all the wrongs he had done to me.
In the hospital morgue, my body lay silently before him.
The wounds on my wrists were horrifyingly vivid.
He was so shocked by this sudden scene that he fell to his knees in front of me.
Seeing him like this, the staff kindly told him,
“This girl reportedly committed suicide by slitting her wrists. She even called the police herself before doing it. It’s so
sad.”
“Are you her brother or her lover? Why did it take you so long to come looking for her?”
