Danica pulled her sleeve in time and said, “Let’s go, Florence.”
Florence stopped talking, catching Danica’s drift. She glanced at Jennifer mockingly and said meaningfully, “You’ll know how ridiculously wrong you are.”
Then Danica and Florence left.
Watching their retreating figures, Emilio fumed, “What made Danica think she could act so arrogantly? She doesn’t even have a degree. If I were her, I’d be too ashamed to show my face in public.”
But Jennifer wasn’t mad. She had never taken Danica seriously, finding Danica didn’t even get to compete with her.
Getting pissed off over Danica was beneath her.
She looked at Emilio and smiled, “Don’t mind her, Emilio. Arrogance and ignorance always come in pairs, right?”
Emilio turned to Wayne. “Wayne, divorce her as soon as possible. She’s so not good enough for you.”
Wayne remained expressionless. He looked at Jennifer and said, “Let’s go.”
She nodded. “OK.”
Then the three left.

As they walked out of the bar, a surprised voice rang out. “Wayne?”

Wayne looked up and saw an acquaintance–Trevon Keaton, the president of Brenton University.
He stepped forward. “Mr. Keaton, what brings you here in Marinburg?”
Jennifer had always respected Trevon. Though she had been a straight–A student, Brenton University was still out of her reach.
Trevon smiled, “Wayne, hi. I’m here for a seminar. It’s such a coincidence that your junior is also here in Marinburg.”
Wayne paused slightly. “My junior?”
Trevon said, “Yes. Both you and she are legends of Brenton University- she’s a highly talented prodigy, and just like you, she obtained a double degree at sixteen. It’s such a shame that you were a few years apart, so you don’t know her.”
Emilio was curious. “Really? Is she that good? Who’s better then? Wayne or her?”
Smiling, Trevon looked at Wayne and commented, “I’d say they’re evenly matched.”
Wayne arched an eyebrow. He had never met his match.
Jennifer had never heard anything about Wayne’s talented junior before. She wasn’t hostile toward Danica, but this prodigy almost cracked her composure.
Overwhelmed by hostility and jealousy, she was dying to know who the prodigy was.
Trevon took out his phone. “I’ve sent her number on WhatsApp to you. Add her when you’re free. Since she’s also here, I’d appreciate it if you can keep an eye out for her.”
Wayne nodded. “Sure thing.”

After Trevon left, Emilio urged, “Come on, Wayne. Add her. I wanna know how she looks.”
Wayne took out his phone and opened the prodigy’s profile.
Her username was “D“.
Puzzled, Emilio asked, “What does that stand for?”
Wayne had no idea. He sent her a friend request with the note “Wayne Hamilton“.
She hadn’t responded.
Emilio was thrilled. “Wayne, do forward her number to me after she accepts your request. I’m such a big fan of her!”
Jennifer was upset upon noticing their curiosity about the prodigy. Just then, a Rolls–Royce business sedan pulled up. Todd Martin, Wayne’s private secretary, was here to pick them up.
Jennifer immediately said quickly, “Wayne, here’s our ride. Let’s go.”
“Bye, Wayne, Jenny.” Emilio waved his hand.

As the Rolls–Royce business sedan sped smoothly on the road, in the opulent, quiet cabin, Todd looked at Wayne through the rearview mirror and asked respectfully, “Where to, Mr. Hamilton?”
Wayne replied concisely, “The company.”
Jennifer turned her head to look at Wayne, whose handsome face was illuminated by the neon lights passing the window, adding a touch of refinement and mystery to his temperament. Somehow, she felt that he was a movie star stepping right out of a black–and–white film.

Her eyes were filled with affection. Then she asked, “Wayne, what happened between you and Danica earlier in the bar? Don’t tell me you want something to happen now that she’s prettier now.”

Wayne glanced at her, saying nonchalantly, “She’s my wife. Isn’t it normal that I want something to happen? Besides, it’s you who forced me into her arms.”
Jennifer knew he was still blaming her.
After all, she had abandoned him three years ago, and Danica ended up marrying him.
Jennifer tried to defend herself. “Wayne, Danica insisted on marrying you. I had no choice…”
Wayne interrupted, “Do you even believe that yourself?”
Jennifer was rendered speechless.
Biting her lip, she said in a fit of pique, “Yeah, I walked away three years ago. If that still bothers you, let’s break up then. You don’t have to be with me.”
With that, she turned to Todd. “Todd, pull over!”
She wanted to get out.
But, in the next second, Wayne reached out, grabbed her by the wrist with his slender fingers, and pulled her into his embrace.
He said, his voice mixed with helplessness and indulgence, “You win. Again.”
