Drake reached out his hand politely, but my dad brushed right past him, pulled me into his arms, and said-
“Eloise, welcome home.”

The room went dead silent–as if struck by lightning. The ones who had just mocked me now looked uneasy, scrambling to apologize.

I walked up to him, grabbed his face, and stared him down.

bureau.

Hot on their heels came the criminal police-
