Chapter 4
The dirty stares from students and parents outside the testing center bore into me like daggers.[]
Even though security quickly restored the screen, everyone’s attention was already locked on me.[]
Every step toward the testing center felt impossibly heavy, like my feet were filled with lead.[]
Until I walked into the exam room, the students who were already seated would still give me looks full of complex disgust and contempt when they saw me.0
Even the security teacher did a double–take when she saw me, then started patting me down roughly.[]
I spoke up carefully:]
“Ma’am, there’s nothing hidden in my clothes. Could you please be a little gentler?“]
She didn’t care. “You’re shameless enough to send your nudes to everyone–how do I know you won’t hide cheating devices in your private parts?“]
Everyone stared at me, snickering.]
Jonas sat in his chair with a cold smirk, enjoying my humiliation.[]
I don’t even know how I made it through the SAT.]
It took everything I had not to let that incident mess with my head.]
The test questions hadn’t changed.[
I breathed a small sigh of relief.]
In my past life, I’d scored two points lower than Jonas.
This time I had to make up for my regret!
Jonas seemed to realize this too.
Throughout the entire exam, he wrote furiously, looking like the academic genius he used to be.
When the test ended, Mr. and Mrs. Parker were waiting outside.[]
Jonas didn’t even glance at them and walked away.
They didn’t even have the heart to be mad. As long as their son showed up for the SAT, they already counted it as a win.
So they grabbed my hand:
“Ruby, did he take it seriously? Did he actually try on the test?“]
I nodded.
They both visibly relaxed.
Right after the SATs ended, Jonas immediately vanished to God knows where.
Mr. and Mrs. Parker didn’t bother chasing after him anymore – if their son wanted to mess around with Rachel, then let him go.
After all, with Jonas’s abilities, as long as he took the SATs, it was just a matter of choosing between Harvard or Yale.
On results day, our families gathered together to check scores.
When they saw my score, everyone was shocked

My parents were overjoyed –
After all, this was a perfect score.[]
I’d achieved what every student dreams of.
Then it was Jonas’s turn.]
The bright, glaring 0 hurt the Parker family’s eyes.
The Parker family thought the computer had malfunctioned after displaying two perfect scores in a row, so they excitedly hugged their son, and I turned to look at him too-
Looks like in this life, he’d still achieved perfect scores.]
“What are you so excited about?“]
Jonas sneered: “Aren’t you worried I actually got a zero?”
“Oh honey, come on!”
Mr. and Mrs. Parker playfully smacked him on the head:
“How could you possibly get a zero? Besides, Ruby told us you were working hard the whole time, didn’t put your pencil down until the very last second!”
Jonas shot me a cold look and raised an eyebrow dismissively:
“I knew you couldn’t stop being a snitch.“]
He pulled out his phone, opened Rachel’s Instagram, and tossed it to his parents.
The moment Mr. and Mrs. Parker saw Rachel’s post, they suddenly clutched their chests.
Jonas watched his parents‘ horrified expressions and gave a smug smile:[]
“Did you two really think dragging me to the test center would solve everything?”
