Divorce On Release Day Ch 50

Chapter 50

Sally looked up when she heard the voice

Standing in front of her was a middleaged man, tall and wellbuilt, wearing a blue shirt

Sally pointed to the chair next to her. Have a seat. I’ll take a look.”

Casey Quinn sat at the clinic table and unbuttoned his shirt to show Sally. I’m not sure if I ate something bad, but I’ve broken out in rashes all over. I went to the hospital, but nothing worked. They said you’re really good, so I came to see if you could help.”

Sally glanced at him. Just roll up your sleeve and let me see.”

Casey quickly let go of his collar, rolled up his right sleeve, and held out his arm for Sally to check

It’s an allergySally barely needed a glance to make her diagnosis

Casey shook his head. Allergy? No way! I’ve had this for ages, seen doctors for almost a week, and none of them said it was an allergy!”

This is definitely an allergy, and not a regular one,” Carlos chimed in, leaning over to look at his hand. It’s probably a paint allergy. People who work with paint for a long time usually build up some resistance, but that doesn’t mean you won’t react to new materials.”

Sally grinned at Carlos in agreement

She thought, He even caught that. Looks like this guy really knows his stuff

What do you do for a living?Sally asked, glancing down at Casey, Could your job have something to do with this?”

I make furniture. I do work with paint, but I’ve been on a break lately and haven’t touched any for a while, said Casey

Sally reached out to take his pulse

Then she said calmly, It’s an allergy. I’ll prescribe you three doses of herbal medicine, plus a topical ointment. After you finish them, come back for a followup. And make sure you don’t eat any seafood during this time.”

Casey’s face darkened. What happens if I do?”

Before Sally could answer, Carlos said seriously, It’ll make things worse. At best, you’ll have trouble breathing. At worst, you could go into shock and die. So you really need to follow the doctor’s orders and don’t eat anything you shouldn’t.”

Casey nodded quietly, not saying another word

Sally quickly printed out the prescription and handed it to Carlos. Get the medicine based on this. I’m going to the restroom.”

OkayCarlos nodded

After Sally got up and left, Casey kept his eyes on her as she walked away

A sly, cold smile suddenly played at the corners of his mouth

No one noticed his expression

When Sally came out, Casey was still waiting for his prescription. As a new patient walked in, Sally barely glanced at Casey before turning her attention to the newcomer

Hi there! What brings you in today? Are you feeling unwell?asked Sally

Are you Mrs. Zale? I’m Amy Nell, Abigail’s aunt. She told me to come see you, Amy Nell said

That jogged Sally’s memory. Abigail had mentioned a few days ago that a relative might be coming in for a checkup

Sally said. Oh, it’s you, Amy! Please, have a seat

Thank youAmy settled into the chair and started telling Sally about her symptoms

After checking her pulse, Sally quickly made a diagnosis. It’s nothing serious, but you’ll need some acupuncture. You’re not afraid of needles, are you”

Not at all! As long as you can help me get better, I’m up for anything, said Amy

Sally gave her hand a reassuring pat. Don’t worry. It’s really nothing to stress about.”

Chapter 50

Amy praised. I’ve heard Abigail rave about your skills for ages, and now that I’ve met you, I can see why! Honestly, you seem even more impressive than those oldschool doctors”

You’re flattering me, Amy. Helping people is just what we do as doctors, said Sally

Amy kept praising, You’re not just talented. You’re beautiful and kind, too!”

Sally couldn’t help but smile at Amy’s praise, the corners of her mouth turning up

Standing nearby, Carlos chimed in, Exactly. Sally is amazing in every way. I wonder which lucky guy will get to marry someone as wonderful as her.”

Sally shot Carlos a look and smiled, Oh, stop it.”

Carlos just grinned and then leaned in a little closer, watching as Sally wrote out the prescription

From the shadows, a pair of dark eyes watched the scene

After seeing Amy out, Sally was met with a dark, intense gaze

Brad stood at the doorway, slowly making his way toward her

Sally just glanced at him and then looked away

Carlo

As Brad walked in, Carlos, who was behind the counter, instinctively called out, Sir, are you here for a consultation?”

Brad turned his head automatically, glancing in Carlos’s direction

At sixfootone, even with a mask on, it was obvious Carlos was a strikingly handsome young man

Seeing he didn’t respond, Carlos sized him up a few more times

Dressed in a black suit, Brad radiated an air of privilege, clearly someone from a wealthy family

Sir?When Brad still didn’t answer, Carlos called out to him again

But Brad strode forward and grabbed Sally’s arm. You open your clinic and don’t even bother telling me?”

Sally stopped in her tracks instantly

She turned to look at Brad. And what does that have to do with you? Why would I need to tell you?”

You used my money to open this place. Isn’t it normal for me to ask about it?Brad retorted

Sally’s expression darkened as she yanked her arm free. How many times do I have to correct you? That was money you paid willingly for the lion statues I carved. Once it’s in my pocket, it’s my money!”

Brad’s tone was icy. Who sent all those flowers at the door? You don’t really have friends, do you? Who would be so generous to send that many flower baskets?”

Sally had no interest in arguing. If you’re so bored, go pick up your son. School’s out now. Stop making your mistress do it all the time. People will start thinking I’m dead or something!”

At that, Carlos’s eyes went wide behind the counter

It took him a few seconds to piece together the relationships from their conversation

He thought, So this guy must be Sally’s husband. And they have a son together. Plus, this man actually has another woman

He never would’ve guessed Sally’s family situation was this explosive

Just like the old saying, good women never met good guys

Sally, do you have to talk like that?A chilling coldness flickered in Brad’s eyes

Sally just shot him a cold look and then turned to Carlos. Carlos, can you check if this gentleman is crazy? If not, please show him out.”
