Chapter 1 Enter The City
The gentle stream murmured, and the morning light softly illuminated the surroundings.
By the creek, Ash Feron sat on a large rock, barefoot, with a green foxtail grass in her mouth, playing with her phone while reading messages from her subordinates. These subordinates were all big shots in various industries.
[Mr. Feron, Feron Group wants to foster you? What a joke! You’re an adult, why would you need to be fostered?]
[Feron Group is such a small company. How dare they invite Mr. Feron? Mr. Feron’s restroom is probably larger than the entire Feron family’s villa, right?]
[Feron Group is nothing special. Mr. Feron, go back to Allico Group! Compared to a company with assets worth several hundred billion, Feron Group is like nothing!]
[I agree!]
[Mr. Feron, are you really going to the Feron family?]
Looking at the messages from her headquarters, Ash replied with an air of aloofness. [I’ll go there!]
Allico Group was an immensely powerful and mysterious organization that spanned over 200 countries and regions worldwide. Its operations encompassed various industries crucial to global food security, such as agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries. With assets reaching several hundred billion, it held the potential to effortlessly trigger a food crisis in any given country.
To Ash, the mere several tens of billion assets of Feron Group were truly insignificant.
No one knew the exact location of this mysterious organization, let alone the person behind it.
Despite countless intelligence agents dispatched by various countries to investigate Allico Group, they all returned empty-handed.
No one could have guessed that the enigmatic tycoon with such enormous wealth and power was, in reality, someone who appeared to be a rural boy.
After reading the messages, Ash put her phone aside, rolled up her pants, and waded into the icy water to catch some fish.
Ash’s mother, Thea Feron, was adopted by Wayne Feron. Even though she was not Wayne’s biological daughter, he showered her with love and treated her as if she were his own. From childhood to adulthood, Thea never lacked anything. Wayne always went to great lengths to fulfill her every desire, and she lived a life akin to that of a princess.
Externally, he hid this fact from everyone, making them believe that Thea was his biological daughter.
However, Thea fell in love with the family’s chauffeur, which angered Wayne greatly. He could not allow his beloved daughter to be with someone of low social status, so he used various means to separate them.
Frustrated, Thea ran away from home. At that time, she was already three months pregnant.
After eight months of carrying the child, Thea gave birth to Ash prematurely and passed away due to complications.
Ash’s father, whose name remains unknown, was rumored to be a scoundrel. After Wayne bought him off, he disappeared. No one knew where he went to enjoy a life of luxury.
Poor Ash, born premature, was sent to an orphanage at a young age.
If it was not for a mysterious benefactor named King adopting her as his foster daughter, nurturing and educating her wholeheartedly, and passing on all his skills, she would not have achieved what she had to this day.
Ash was exceptionally intelligent from a young age, outshining all her peers. She grew up surrounded by praise and admiration from everyone. King held her in high regard and groomed her as his successor, molding her to become a leader within the King Group. With his unwavering support in resources, manpower, and finances, she gradually built Allico Group, an international organization.
Due to certain reasons, she had to present herself as a boy to the outside world. Since she was 10 years old, she consciously dressed as a boy.
At that moment, a Rolls-Royce Phantom came to a stop by the creek.
From the car emerged a tall and imposing man, exuding an air of elegance. He wore a limited-edition watch on his wrist. With one hand in his pocket, he coldly glanced at Ash, who was enjoying herself in the water.
“Is he my aunt’s child?”
“Yes, Mr. Feron. We’ve confirmed it from the maternity hospital where your aunt gave birth. He’s the one.”
“We have to be careful. We need a paternity test.”
“Yes, boss.”
After Wesley Feron gave his instructions to his subordinates, he strode over to the water’s edge.
Looking down at the mud under his shoes, he frowned slightly, feeling somewhat disdainful. If it were not for his grandfather, Wayne, whose health was deteriorating day by day and who wished to reunite with Thea’s family, Wesley would never have lowered himself to come to such a remote and impoverished place.
Despite not having a favorable impression of this newly appeared cousin, Wesley remained patient.
“Ash, come up here. I’ll take you home.”
Wesley’s voice was cold, yet it carried a penetrating power.
He gazed at her fair feet in the water and could not help but sneer, “Hmph, not even grown any hair yet. How did my aunt give birth to such an effeminate boy?”
In the water, Ash appeared to be catching fish. Inside, she was seething with anger.
After being adrift for 18 years, now Wayne wanted to take her back with just a few words. She would never let him have his way so easily.
