Chapter 4 A Big Shot

Homer was a famous superstar, the kind of guy all women across the country dreamed of marrying.

He and Wesley had always been at odds with each other since they were kids. Whatever Wesley wanted, Homer wanted to compete for it.

This day was no exception.

“Bro, it’s your first time coming home. Why settle for a shabby car when you can ride in my helicopter? Not only is it faster, but I can also take you for a spin over Kingstonia’s skies.”

“Sure.” Ash did not hesitate and opened the door, stepping out of the car.

Wesley was already feeling irritated. With Homer unexpectedly showing up, his annoyance grew even more. “When it comes to taking the blame, you’re never around to be seen, but you’re the first one to snatch credit,” Wesley said in a sarcastic tone.

Homer did not deny it and laughed boisterously. “Of course. Whoever brings our cousin back home and makes Grandpa happy gets a bigger share of the family fortune. It’s such a fantastic opportunity. How could I not be proactive?”

“Ash, get in the car. That’s an order.” Wesley disregarded Homer, his gaze fixed on the window.

However, Homer quickly sidled up to Ash. “Come with me. Don’t worry.”

In truth, Ash knew that whether she went with Wesley or Homer, she would still be returning to the Feron family. The difference was, if she made a choice, it meant she was picking a side.

Wesley’s father was Dwayne Feron, and Homer and Truman were Norman Feron’s sons. Dwayne and Norman had always been rivals, engaged in a constant power struggle.

Ash has no interest in the power struggles of the wealthy. The reason she agreed to go back to the Feron family was solely to accompany Wayne in his twilight years.

King had once told her that Thea’s dying wish was for Ash to be by Wayne’s side in his later years.

The only reason she chose to return to the Feron family was to fulfill Thea’s dying wish, and there was no other motive behind her decision.

Seeing Wesley and Homer arguing heatedly, Ash grew impatient. She walked around to the front and opened the passenger door, taking her luggage out.

Homer felt a sense of triumph and flipped Wesley the bird.

Wesley’s face turned dark, looking as if he could kill.

Homer’s and Wesley’s personalities could not be more different.

“Sorry, I’ll have Alfred Kirk from the village take me back,” Ash said, whistling with her fingers.

Without waiting for a response, a roaring motorcycle sound approached. The motorcycle executed a perfect jump onto the roof of the luxury car before coming to a stop in front of it.

The chauffeur blinked, barely grasping what had just happened, but Ash had already hopped onto the motorcycle with her bag.

Before anyone could react, the motorcycle kicked up a cloud of dust, roaring away into the distance.

Everyone was struck dumb.

Homer was left dumbfounded, opening his narrowed eyes wide. He almost burned his fingers with his cigarette butt in the process.

“Wow, just leaving like that? He’s quite a character.”

“Let’s go,” Wesley said to the chauffeur.

“Hey, bro, neither of us got anything out of this, huh?”

The luxury car started and quickly drove away, intentionally spraying Homer’s face with exhaust fumes.

Homer spat twice and crushed the cigarette butt, stomping on it a few times on the ground.

He was now quite intrigued by Ash because he turned out to be much more interesting than he had imagined.

He had caught a glimpse of something when Wesley was not paying close attention.

The motorcycle that came to a stop was the latest X8-kr model from King Group, the leading arms manufacturer in Maqiland. Even local elites in Maqiland would find it difficult to buy, let alone in other regions, especially Zepplinland, where this model was banned from the market.

This motorcycle was something that even Wesley, with all his resources, might not be able to get his hands on, yet it seemed that guy called Alfred could ride it so casually.

Most people thought that Alfred, who could get his hands on such a motorcycle, was impressive. However, upon closer examination, they would realize that Ash, who could effortlessly command Alfred, was even more formidable.

Homer was getting excited. He believed Ash’s appearance could bring some surprises to the Feron family. He was really looking forward to it.

“Back to the Feron family!” Holding the ladder with one hand, Homer gave the order. He did not have many hobbies, but he loved watching drama unfold. He was eager to see when Ash’s true identity would be exposed.

He had already figured out that Ash was definitely not an ordinary country bumpkin.
