Chapter 23
“I have no issue with that.” Ash nonchalantly pulled a piece of gum from her pocket, popped it into her mouth, and began to chew.
“Officer, let’s settle this matter privately…” Sirena said, smiling awkwardly.
With unanimous agreement, they exited the police station.
At the main entrance, they were met with the sight of a modified Harley Cosmic Starship motorcycle parked there, ridden by a red–haired teenager who exuded a delinquent aura.
From her memory, Ash immediately recognized the person before her as none other than Truman Feron, the fourth son of the Feron family.
Truman held his helmet in hand, casually waving at Sirena and Chelsea before shifting his attention to Ash.
Eyeing Ash from head to toe, Truman grinned mischievously. “So, you’re the new guy, Ash? I must say, you’ve got a cool outfit!”
“You’re not so bad yourself, modifying the Harley Cosmic Starship in such a stylish manner. You seem to be quite the expert.”
The market price of this motorcycle exceeded 200 thousand dollars, and after the modifications, it was valued at over 400 thousand dollars.
Truman was a troubled teenager with multiple ear piercings and a penchant for dying his hair in various colors.
He loved racing cars and getting into fights.
However, despite his wild demeanor, he excelled in his studies.
In Welling Private School, he was the school hunk and Prince Charming.
But no matter how excellent he was, people still shook their heads when they saw some of his hobbies.
Ash was the first one who praised him.
Ash’s praise delighted Truman as if he had found a kindred spirit. “Next up, a ride with Truman!”
He tossed his helmet at Ash.
With dexterity, Ash caught the helmet and gave it a sniff.
“Put it on.”
“Don’t feel like wearing it.”
“Put it on! for safety.”
I trust your skills, and I won’t wear it.”
“Not a chance. You won’t have a ride without it!”
Sirena and Chelsea listened to the playful banter between the two teenagers and felt slightly embarrassed.
They couldn’t fathom why they were making such a fuss over a helmet. It was just a helmet.
Feeling impatient, Truman exclaimed. “Come on, don’t you have any manliness in you? You’re like a nag!”
Ash endured the foul odor and gingerly placed the helmet on her head.
Straddling the back of the motorcycle filled her with a sense of thrill and coolness.
“Who wore this helmet? Why does it smell so dreadful? Have you not washed your hair in days?”
Ledley, Ben, Jack… They’ve all worn it.”
Ash was left speechless.
At the same time, she thought to herself, “Stinky man, indeed.”
“Get ready!” Truman exclaimed without further ado, clutching the armrest firmly, giving it a swift spin, and igniting the engine.
The motorcycle shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, producing a resounding “whoosh.”

Unfortunately, the black exhaust spewed directly onto Sirena and Chelsea’s faces.
“Geez! Truman, this rascal! That was awful!”
Along the way, the motorcycle sped like lightning.
Ash was a man of few words, while Truman was also the strong silent type.
As Truman said, it was totally just a ride, no conversations, no talking.
Only the whoosh‘ of the wind echoed in their cars.
Ash, with her slender frame, would likely have been blown away by the wind if not for the good control of her body.
“Hey, Ash, you’re so great! I can’t believe that your small frame could handle this speed!” Truman asked with a hint of surprise.
Upon reaching the Feron family’s place, Truman hopped off the motorcycle and patted Ash’s shoulder.
Ash, still chewing gum, responded casually. “You’re not bad yourself, Truman.”
“Of course, I’m a strong man.”
Ash removed the helmet, shaking her hair free from its confines, her mood taking a slight dip.
The lingering stench bothered her.
Before she could express her annoyance, Truman reached out to fix her hair.
Feeling uneasy, Ash stepped back at once.
Truman awkwardly retracted his hand, wondering if his gesture came across as inappropriate.
To case his embarrassment, Truman quickly took out his phone and started texting.
[Wesley, Homer, the pickup was successful. Back now.]
