Chapter 24
As soon as the text message had been dispatched, Truman rubbed his head and set off toward the majestic castle with embarrassment.
In the lobby on the ground floor, Sandra and Zelda both sat before the floor–to–ceiling windows. It was the rose garden outside the window.
Sandra was in a good mood as she played with her cat and savored her ice cream.
As soon as she thought of Ash being badly beaten by the people from the Kickboxing Club, she couldn’t be happier.
Zelda, wearing headphones, was reading a French book in her hands.
She had always harbored a desire to learn French, but unfortunately, she struggled with certain pronunciations and trills since she could not roll her tongue.
It would be so good if her brother Truman, a straight–A student, were present now. Then, he could teach her French one–on–one, and she’d surely master the language in no time.
“Zelda, enough of your rambling about that French stuff. Let me share some happy news with you.”
Sandra removed Zelda’s headphones and came to her with a smile.
Zelda showed little interest and said, “Um, go ahead.”
“That rube will probably get a taste of his own medicine today.”
“Huh? Why? Don’t tell me that you really got someone beat him up?”
“Absolutely! I just can’t stand him. He’s responsible for Darky’s death, and I must avenge it!”
“But…” Zelda covered her mouth, and her face was filled with worry.
She heard someone enter the room before she could finish her sentence, followed by the maid’s voice.
“Hello, Mr. Truman, Mr. Ash.”
Upon hearing that Truman had returned, Zelda sprung up and ran happily to meet him with her book in hand.
Sandra continued to pet her cat more vigorously, her gaze straight on the foyer.
When she saw Ash unharmed, she clenched her teeth in frustration.
“Could it be that those cowards hadn’t gone to him?” she thought.
“Truman, can you help me with my homework?”
“Not interested.” Truman glanced at Sandra, who was sitting by the window. “Sandra, you’re in big trouble.”
“Truman, why are you scolding me as soon as you get back?” Sandra pouted, displeased.
Ash remained silent throughout and proceeded directly to the second floor.
Shortly afterward, Sirena and Chelsea also returned.
Chelsea, panting, went straight to Sandra and took her hand. “Come on, Sandra, go apologize to Ash right now.”
“Mom, what’s going on?”
“You know what you’ve done! Those ruffians have exposed your involvement in all of this, and Ash intends to bring it before the school committee, resulting in a major demerit for you!”
“What?” Sandra was so anxious that she couldn’t help but clutch the cat with all her might. However, the cat managed to break free and retaliated, leaving a long red mark on the back of Sandra’s hand with its paw.
“Your hand! It’s bleeding now! You need to get a rabies shot!” Chelsea grabbed Sandra’s hand, dragging her toward the hospital. But after a moment’s thought, she turned back.
“You can get a rabies vaccine in 24 hours, and now, you must go and apologize to Ash first!”
“Mom, are you crazy? I’m not apologizing to that rube!” Sandra’s frustration was so intense that she burst into tears.

Chelsea had no choice but to gently console her, patting Sandra’s hand. “Good girl, listen. Ash may be unpleasant, but let’s endure for now. When the opportunity arises in the future, we’ll deal with him properly!”
“I… Sandra stomped her feet in frustration.
Nevertheless, Chelsea greeted the maid and quickly prepared some delicious food.
Once everything was ready, she handed Sandra the tray. “Go ahead.”
“Alright, I’ll go!” Sandra replied through gritted teeth, but she couldn’t resist spitting into the coffee a couple of times and stirring it with the spoon.
Chelsea noticed this and felt relieved. “Good job, that’s my daughter. We have a thousand ways to deal with the situation, don’t we?”
“Right!” Sandra smiled wryly, picking up the tray and proceeding gracefully towards the stairs.
