Chapter 6 Isabelle Was Taken Away by the Police
At that moment, someone in the live stream recognized Isabelle.

“Isn’t that Isabelle? If I’m not mistaken, the person next to her is her manager. What did they do to get arrested by the police?”
“It’s not surprising that Isabelle was arrested; didn’t she also push Tiana into the water?”
“I’ve always said Isabelle would end up in legal trouble. How is she not banned from the industry yet?”
As the chat in the live stream became heated and the viewer count continued to rise, Michelle couldn’t help but feel delighted.
“Folks, I’m going to check out the situation. Are you sure that’s Isabelle?”
“Could it be a misunderstanding?”
“Let’s not jump to conclusions, everyone.”
But the netizens didn’t care.
People were recording and taking screenshots, and soon the news that Isabelle had become a legal troublemaker spread online. Some even claimed she had pushed an old lady, leading to the lady’s death, and that she was detained by the police.
With nothing else to do that evening, everyone was surfing online, and the rumors spread incredibly fast.
Isabelle and her manager were together, and with no one to debunk the rumors, they grew more outrageous.
They were unaware of this as they followed the police officers to the police station.
At that moment, Libby stepped out of the neighboring convenience store.
“What’s going on here?”
She saw the old lady next door being loaded into an ambulance and Isabelle and her manager being taken into a police car.
“Those two caused Madam Cordelia’s troubles, and the police are here. Libby, didn’t you hear anything next door?” someone asked Libby.
Startled, Libby responded, “How are they involved?”
“I’ll go and see!”
Libby hurried toward the police car, and Isabelle noticed her.
“Isabelle, what happened? How could they say you harmed Madam Cordelia?”
Isabelle looked at Libby coldly.
She appeared concerned, but Isabelle felt disgusted thinking about how this woman had inade her apologize to an animal.
When the police saw Libby pulling at the car door, they frowned, “What’s your relationship with her? Don’t interfere with our work.”
“I’m her mother,” Libby pointed at Isabelle.
“Then wait at home for news,” the police said, not allowing her to join them in the car.
“Make way, please, everyone clear the area.”
The police driver stuck his head out, dispersing the crowd gathered around.
Libby followed the car for a few steps, fell, and sat on the ground, slapping her thigh, “What a mess!”
“If she’s detained, what am I going to tell the director tomorrow?”

The director had also received the news online.
A call came for Lennon.
“Hello, Indigo Fern?”
“Lennon, what exactly is going on? I sent you to find Isabelle, not to get into trouble with her.”
“What did you do to the old lady?”
“And that Roy in the live stream earlier, did he really do something?”
Indigo felt his hair might turn white from the stress.
Isabelle was always stirring up trouble!
“She didn’t harm the old lady. We were just leaving the convenience store when we heard a child crying and went to see.”
“That’s when we found the old lady on the ground. We even called 911.”
Indigo scratched his head, “Then why does the internet claim you caused her death?”
“Indigo, do you believe everything you hear online?”
“Isabelle may be hot–headed, but she wouldn’t harm an elderly person. We were trying to help.”
“Understood, just cooperate with the investigation,” Indigo said, apparently being called away, and hung up.
Lennon quickly checked the news online.
Sure enough, Isabelle was being slammed as a legal troublemaker, and Lennon was also mentioned.
They had been clearly photographed being taken by the police, related somehow to a popular internet broadcaster.
Who knew the broadcaster would show up at the night market just in time to capture that?
Lennon looked at Isabelle, “There’s a lot of backlash online; do you want to respond?”
Isabelle glanced at him, “Do you think anyone would listen to me now?”
Lennon had already planned his response, and hearing Isabelle, he relaxed, “Alright, then let’s ignore the online opinion for
now.”
Isabelle looked at the police officer, “Comrade, if it’s proven unrelated to us, could you publicly commend our helpful actions online?”
Lennon raised an eyebrow; Isabelle somehow knew what he was thinking.
Had her intelligence suddenly increased? A side effect of getting water in her brain?
“If it turns out you’re not involved and you did help someone, of course, we can,” the officer assessed Isabelle.
He hadn’t expected the girl to be a star; no wonder she was so attractive.
Meanwhile, Indigo was stopped by the assistant director, who mentioned that fans were demanding the show drop Isabelle.
“If we don’t fire Isabelle, they’ll stop watching the show.”
These fans must be really full, Indigo. What do you think, should we clear things up for Isabelle and her team?”
“It’s unclear what her company is doing; it’s gotten this bad, and they’ve done nothing.”
Indigo scratched his head, “Let’s leave it for now. We need to see the whole picture first.”
“We still have to film tomorrow. If Isabelle really did something to the old lady, it’s only right to fire her. If not, tomorrow’s show will be even more sensational.”

The show’s team thought this way, but over at the Powell Family, Tiana hurried to find Nova after learning Isabelle had been taken by the police.
“Mom, Isabelle’s in trouble.”
Tiana was also live streaming, and the camera captured her concern after hearing about Isabelle’s arrest.
Nova was eating a beauty–enhancing dessert.
Hearing Tiana mention Isabelle’s troubles, she frowned instinctively, “What trouble has she caused now?”
“It seems like Isabelle pushed Madam Cordelia next door and got taken away by the police.”
Tiana was hesitant; she wasn’t sure herself.
“What?” Nova put down her bowl. “How could she even do such a thing?”
Tiana shook her head, “I don’t know either.”
“She wasn’t supposed to be home, was she?”
Tiana pursed her lips; she obviously couldn’t watch Isabelle’s live stream from home and had forgotten to mention the live stream to Isabelle at the hospital earlier.
Later, a friend called her, saying Isabelle had caused a scene at the Frye Family’s place.
Roy had snuck into her room, unaware of the camera, intending to take advantage of Isabelle.
She didn’t know the full story, only seeing online criticisms of Roy.
She guessed Isabelle had left the Frye Family because of something Roy did.
“I knew it; she couldn’t stand being in that environment for even one night.”
“I think she just wants to get our attention and then return to the Powell Family.”
Before Tiana could explain, Nova had already filled in the blanks.
“Mom, this might be a misunderstanding…” Tiana tried her best to defend Isabelle.
