“Would you like to see too?”
Isabelle asked the woman.

Camila quickly nudged her daughter–in–law, “Sure thing, why not check? It’s important to be healthy to carry on our family line!”
“Madam, does your family have a throne to inherit?” Isabelle, ever bold, quipped.
Her remark, familiar to those in on the joke, drew laughter.
They often teased Camila, who, despite having no throne to pass down, relentlessly nagged her daughter–in–law.
Isn’t it normal for a young couple to wait a couple of years before having children?
“How could we not have one? Our ancestors were quite distinguished…” Camila began, quite seriously, recounting her family history as if they truly had royal lineage.
Isabelle couldn’t help but laugh.
“That’s indeed very important. How many sons did you have?”
“I have only one precious son,” Camila replied proudly. “In our time, having a son was essential.”
“Why didn’t you consider having more? A son is never too many.”
“With such noble blood in your family, how could having few heirs be sufficient?” Isabelle teased, clearly making a jest.
The crowd caught on,
but Camila remained blissfully unaware.
Lennon, watching this part of the live stream, was sweating bullets for Isabelle.
Why delve into this if you’re just refusing to take her pulse? Isn’t this just asking for trouble online?
People like Camila abound in this world, they wouldn’t be gentle with Isabelle.
“I did want more children back then, but we didn’t have the means. We were poor and ended up with two daughters first. Now that conditions have improved, I’m hoping my daughter–in–law will give me a couple of grandsons,” Camila stated matter–of- factly.
Isabelle gave Katherine a sympathetic look, “Being your daughter–in–law must be tough.”
The daughter–in–law, Katherine, was known to everyone as a teacher.
Upon hearing Isabelle’s comment, Katherine looked up at her.
Camila was displeased, “Being our daughter–in–law is a blessing. I do all the cooking and laundry every day. She doesn’t have to do anything but take good care of my son.”
Isabelle responded, “It seems you also have it tough. Let me take her pulse first.”
Unexpectedly, Isabelle didn’t argue with Camila but turned to Katherine.
Camila was thrilled.
“Sit down now!” she urged Katherine.
Katherine obediently sat down and extended her hand to Isabelle.
After checking both of Katherine’s wrists, Isabelle looked puzzled.
Camila, who had been watching Isabelle intently, couldn’t help but ask, “Young lady, Katherine isn’t really infertile, is she?”
Isabelle looked at Camila, hesitating to speak. This made Camila even more anxious.

Katherine felt a pounding in her heart. Could it be true that I couldn’t have children?

“Your daughter–in–law is fine, just a bit fatigued and lacking in vitality. Try to avoid those chaotic supplements; they’re somewhat toxic. Even if she becomes pregnant, they could harm the fetus.” Isabelle advised Camila.
Whether Camila could discern what “chaotic” things meant was up to her.
“So, does this lack of vitality significantly affect pregnancy? Is it because her health is poor that she can’t conceive?”
Isabelle paused, “Her condition doesn’t affect pregnancy, but it would be better to boost her vitality. She’ll need to rest well during pregnancy to maintain it.”
“Why hasn’t she conceived in two years then?” Camila was skeptical.
“Ask your son, maybe? It’s not just the woman’s issue if they can’t conceive,” someone in the crowd shouted.
“That’s impossible! My son couldn’t possibly have issues!” Camila screamed.
The situation became awkward as the onlookers fell silent.
Yet someone boldly added, “Why not have your son come for a check–up?”
“Right, Camila, you should have your son checked too. It’s not fair to blame just your daughter–in–law.”
“With science nowadays, men can also be infertile.”
The crowd chimed in, one after another.
Furious and embarrassed, Camila yelled, “Impossible! How could my son have issues?”
She called her son in front of everyone, telling him to come downstairs for a check–up.
“Young lady, don’t go. Take my son’s pulse, I’ll give you 15 dollars!”
Isabelle raised an eyebrow, noticing the unexpected bonus.
“I’m here on a voluntary basis…” Isabelle emphasized.
“Right, she’s a celebrity, doing a live reality show. You can’t make exceptions; she’s already given your family an extra slot.”
