Chapter 25 Reluctant Realizations
“You might as well just have your son go to the hospital for a check–up.”

“Going to the hospital is such a hassle, young lady. I just want you to check his pulse. My son will be here soon, please don’t leave; it will only take five minutes of your time.”
Isabelle thought about it. Staying an extra five minutes could earn me 15 dollars, so why not?
She was making money through her skills, and surely the production team wouldn’t object.
Indigo also relayed to Parker through the earpiece, “Let her stay and check the pulse of that old lady’s son.”
The topic was obviously a draw, as the viewership was steadily climbing, all thanks to Isabelle.
Although the Powell family had insisted that resources be directed towards Tiana, it was Isabelle who had the real draw.
Parker signaled to Isabelle, who understood that this was a focal point.
Reluctantly, she sat back down, “Alright, then we’ll wait for your son to come down.”
Sure enough, in less than five minutes, Camila’s son, Zion, arrived.
Zion was in slippers, his hair a mess, still wearing his quilted pajamas.
“Mom, what pulse do you need me to check? I’ve been so tired lately, can’t you let me rest at home?”
His son yawned, his complaints filling the air.
Camila was not bothered by his protests. She dragged her son over to Isabelle.
“Quick, let the young doctor check you out, see if there’s anything wrong with you.”
Zion, taken aback by Isabelle, initially thought Camila was joking.
“Are you kidding? She looks so young, how can she know how to take a pulse? Haven’t you run into some scam artists? Did they try to sell you health products? You haven’t transferred any money yet, have you?”
His vigilance amused everyone around.
“Zion has good awareness, but she’s filming a reality show, not selling health products,” someone clarified for Isabelle.
Camila hurriedly pushed her son to sit down, “Don’t worry about it, just let her check your pulse, you don’t need to manage the rest.”
With no other choice, Zion sat down and let Isabelle take his pulse, his face expressionless.
Camila was obviously more nervous about her son.
“Young lady, how’s my son? Is he healthy?”
Isabelle asked, “What does your son do for a living?”
“I drive a truck at the factory,” Zion inadvertently answered, not even needing Camila’s response.
“Perhaps consider a check–up at the hospital, maybe even a job change,” Isabelle suggested subtly.
Her words, though not explicit, were a grim diagnosis for Zion.
“What do you mean? Are you saying my son is sick?” Camila’s face went pale.
“Isn’t it supposed to be Katherine who can’t have children? How could my son possibly have a problem?”
Isabelle tried to soothe her, “Please don’t get agitated, I didn’t say it’s definite, just go to the hospital for a check–up, rely on the hospital’s data.”

“My son can’t be infertile; it must be Katherine’s fault,” Camila insisted, unable to accept the possibility.
She pulled out 15 dollars and handed it to Isabelle, “Check him again, he can’t have a problem.”
“Camila, it’s not that I don’t want to help you see, but you won’t believe what I say. You might as well have him checked at the hospital. His condition is related to his job and his underlying health. Going to the hospital sooner might mean there’s still hope.”
Even with everything Isabelle had said, Camila was still in denial.
The onlookers, however, were reveling in the drama.
“Camila has always been bragging about her daughter–in–law being like a barren hen. Now, it turns out it’s her son who can’t have children.”
“She used to scold Katherine so loudly; now, she’ll probably be begging her not to divorce.”
“Look, Katherine’s eyes are red; she’s been so wronged.”
Not just the onlookers, but even the live stream viewers were taking pleasure in the spectacle.
“Whether Isabelle is putting on a show or not, I like this outcome. Hopefully, Katherine despises the man for being infertile and divorces him.”
“After divorcing, Katherine should find someone else, get married, and immediately have children, while Zion, unable to have children, gets rejected and ends up alone.”
“Karma at its finest; Camila’s face is a delight to watch!”
This time, regardless of the truth, everyone supported Isabelle.
Camila still didn’t want to take Zion to the hospital, but Katherine found her resolve.
“Let’s go to the hospital!”
Zion was still bewildered.
Camila had called him down, and now he was being told he might be infertile?
Why couldn’t I have children? Is it just because we sometimes didn’t synchronize well, delaying the possibility of having children?
