“There’s nothing to talk about,” I said flatly. “We’re done, Lucas.“}
His eyes flickered with frustration. “I didn’t want it to end this way. Just give me a chance to explain.”
“We signed the divorce papers,” I said. “There’s nothing left to explain. I saw everything with my own eyes.”
“If this is about what happened to me and Lilith,” he said quickly, “that was a misunderstanding.”}
I gave a short, bitter laugh. “A misunderstanding?” I repeated, narrowing my eyes. “Right. Because two people, completely naked, sharing a bed just happens by accident. Of course. Makes perfect sense.“}
“Selene, nothing really happened. That was just some-”

I turned to leave, not giving him another second of my time. But before I could take another step, he moved in front of me, blocking the path.”

Panic surged through me as I kicked and pushed, refusing to go quietly. I bit him hard. He cursed and breathing hard.
