The livestream chat was buzzing with excitement again: “I want to hear Freya talk–why isn’t Freya streaming with Kendrick today? They were such a good pair.”
“Still dying to see what Freya really looks like. I’m so curious how pretty she is.”
“You’re not alone, whoever said that. I want to see her too. We can’t play the VR MMO right now, but at least we can see Freya’s face–beauty over gameplay! Shameless beauty lovers unite!”
Kendrick rolled his eyes at the chat. “Freya hasn’t even shown up yet and you’re all worked up. If she did, I’d be completely forgotten. Keep dreaming–it’s not happening.”
“I’m listening to you guys–time to get up and move. You all should stretch a bit too.” Kendrick muted his mic and stood up. only to be completely thrown off by Freya. “Freya, what the heck are you doing?”
“Morning stretches. Didn’t you learn them when you were a kid?” Freya answered while continuing her stretches.
Of course I know you’re doing it. I’m asking why you’re doing them.”
“What else would you suggest? Honestly, these nationally approved radio exercises are the most effective. They’re way better than all the random stuff you find online.
“Freya, seriously–you’re the first adult I’ve seen doing middle school calisthenics.”
“They might be for middle schoolers, but middle schoolers are practically adults anyway. So it works just as well for grown- ups.” Freya was getting ready for the jumping section and called out to Kendrick,
“Don’t just stand there like an idiot–get over here and do it with me. I’m doing it twice: you can follow along on the second round.”
“Freya, you really are one of a kind.” Kendrick had no intention of joining her. It wasn’t about whether it worked or not–it was about the sheer embarrassment factor!
“There’s no point in caring what others think. Living healthy and happy is what matters most. If you stick to regular exercise and eat well, you can live a long, long life.”
“But no one ever knows whether an accident or tomorrow will come first Kendrick jumped into his own usual workout routine instead of doing Freya’s calisthenics. Watching her twist and turn made him want to laugh.
“Exactly, which is why you can’t waste today just because you don’t know what might happen tomorrow. What if nothing bad ever happens? Then you’ve wasted decades.” Freya started her second round of exercises.
“As long as I can look back and feel good about how I lived every single day, then even if something happens the next moment, there’ll be no regrets.”
“You’re absolutely right, Freya. And yet, I’m still doing my own thing.”
Freya just stared.
The morning flew by. The two of them eagerly followed Louis to the restaurant again. They tried a few more new dishes this time–everything was just as delicious. Freya genuinely felt that the good food might be one of the reasons why Louis’s employees stayed with the company for so long. Thinking about it that way, it was no wonder Louis had hired a full–time chef
The following days passed in much the same way. The livestream audience kept growing. More and more people knew Kendrick had a co–host named Freya with a beautiful voice. Meanwhile, they had pretty much finished showing off everything about the VR MMO.
After giving a comprehensive rundown, the VR MMO’s popularity doubled once again. Since Kendrick had other things to take care of, the streaming sessions came to a close–at least for now–and Freya was free once more.
That morning after breakfast, Louis got dressed like usual and waited for Freya to head out with him, only to find her bouncing around in pajamas with no intention of leaving the house. That’s when it hit him–she didn’t need to come with him anymore.

Just as he was about to head out, Freya called after him, “Hold up.”

The girl bounced over and handed him a bag full of cookies. She must’ve baked them last night–they were chocolate chip.
“Take these chocolate chip cookies with you. If you get hungry, you can have some during the day. Don’t forget to give a few to Derek, okay? I promised him last night.”
“Got it.” Whatever weird mood Louis had been in instantly vanished. As he walked out, he said over his shoulder, “TII be home for dinner.”
“Okay.” Freya answered, already turning around to go find her face mask.
Later that day. Derek finally got the cookies from Louis. It was just a small pack–only two cookies inside.
“Wasn’t it supposed to be four packs?” Derek stared at the bag in confusion. Freya usually gave him four packs, each with two cookies–eight total. Enough for four in the morning, four in the afternoon.
“She was pretty tired last night, so she made fewer. Louis said it with a straight face, even though he was holding a big bag stuffed with many more packs of cookies.
