I woke up to my phone notification; messages were coming in one after the other. I turned and grabbed my phone. scared to check it, but I had no choice but to check them. The first email I received was from the company; it was a termination email. They no longer needed my services, citing breach of trust as the grounds for the termination, but I knew that wasn’t the truth.

I continued checking the emails, and they were from the businesses and individuals that I’d done work for, canceling their contracts. Some emails were from some of my past coworkers. They were calling me disgusting and shameless, and worse, one even called me a prostitute. I shut my laptop down and sat there at a loss. I didn’t have social media accounts. I checked the message, and it sens a message telling me to kill myself, I turned the phone off and sat there. I knew this was coming. I expected this from whoever was doing this to me. It happened sooner than I expected. I heard a knock on the door. I composed myself and got up and opened the door. Dean was standing there.

We followed her, and she went exactly where she said she was going. We were about to head back when I saw her answer her phone, and her face went pale. “Yeah, most of it. I had some work stuff to take care of, so I stopped at the park and did it. Send me the list of apartments; I’ll check them out after I grab a shower.

I was confused. When she got that call, she looked scared, like the world was pulled out from under her feet, and now she was smiling. I found Dean looking at me. I knew he was as confused as I was, I sent her the link for the apartments. During dinner, she told as which one she liked.

“Okay, Dean, do you have any meetings tomorrow morning?

“Yes. So do you. Princess, you can buy the apartment in your name. I’ll send the money over to your account. Take one of those three miscreants with you.”
