The next morning, when I arrived at the
classroom, I saw the surrounding classmates
looking at me with pity.
I didn’t quite understand, but I saw that
everyone’s desks were filled with candy.
There was also candy on my desk, even more
of it.
My friend, Lacey Baker, came to my side and
said with a complex expression,
“This is the wedding candy from Chad and
Chloe…”
I nodded, indicating that I understood.
Lacey looked at me, moved her lips, but
ultimately didn’t say anything.
Only a few days later, she took out her phone.
and showed me a photo in her Moments with
an angry expression,
“I heard that Chad and Chloe took half a
month off, and Chad took Chloe to travel
abroad to relax!”
The photo showed Chad and Chloe together.
Chloe was hugging Chad’s waist, smiling
happily, and Chad’s hand was on top of
Chloe’s head.
Lacey felt injustice for me, “You chased Chad for three years and didn’t succeed, and Chloe
transferred here for two months and…”
I looked at the book in front of me, not
looking up, “I’ve said it many times, what he
does has nothing to do with me anymore.”
Hearing this, Lacey could only sigh,
“Well, maybe you two just weren’t meant to
be.”
After saying that, she patted my shoulder
again.
“Let’s hang out after school tonight? I booked
a private room at the Nightfall Clubhouse.”
I didn’t refuse and nodded.
