Yannick came this time with his parents.
They would be staying in Beijing for a few
days to hold an engagement banquet for
Yannick and me.
The two families had agreed that the
engagement would be in Beijing, and the
wedding would be in New York City.
Yannick was now picking me up to go to a
restaurant. The elders in the family were
already waiting at the restaurant.
After arriving at the place and getting out of the car, I glanced at my phone and saw that
there were many text messages and calls.
I frowned. This number was newly changed.
The text messages and calls were all from
Chad.

Chad’s call came again. I pressed the hang-
up button, then blacklisted him and set the
phone to not disturb calls from unknown
numbers.
Yannick waited patiently beside me. Seeing
that I was done, he took my hand and said
softly,
“Let’s go.”
