I cleared my throat and told them both with firm conviction.
“The original wife *will* divorce him.”
The two girls exchanged glances, seeming surprised by my certainty.
“Do you know something we don’t?” one girl asked.
1 shook my head. “Just a guess.”
They exhaled, laughed, and said I was guessing wrong.
Then they immediately resumed discussing how many gifts Blake Sterling had given Skylar.
I grew bored listening and turned to watch the sunset. The moment just before the sun dips below the horizon is always the most beautiful.
When the plane took off, coincidentally, the two girls were seated in front of me.

Their topic had shifted to which famous landmarks they’d check out upon landing.

Faintly, I heard Blake Sterling’s name. I guessed the two girls were discussing my marital affairs again.

But when they eventually found out about Blake and my divorce, they’d surely remember the stranger at the airport who’d been so sure about
- it.
The sprawling mansion was eerily quiet, save for Maria’s quiet movements
as she cleaned.
Blake had been busy all day, holding meetings with the PR department due to the massive public outcry.
He impatiently tugged at his tie, silently vowing that Aria Hayes would give him a proper apology.
If she just sincerely said, “I’m sorry, Blake could forgive her and cut ties with Skylar.
He collapsed onto the couch, not seeing Aria’s figure.
She usually loved waiting for him on the couch when he came home. Today was strange.
It felt like he couldn’t even smell Aria’s scent anymore.
Blake called Maria. She said Aria had gone on a trip, but didn’t say where.
Maria stood with her head bowed before him, and Blake inexplicably grew even more agitated.
He opened his phone and checked the GPS tracker, finding Aria’s location moving from the airport towards the city.
