Chapter 6
Elena and Margaret froze together.
“You’re not leaving? So we’re supposed to leave instead?” Elena shot back mockingly.
I clapped softly. “Finally, you got something right for once. Yes, you three need to get out, and those suitcases are packed with all your stuff!”
Elena stomped her feet. “Alex, Mom, listen to what she’s saying! This house clearly belongs to the Caldwell family, but she wants to kick us out. Is there no justice left in this world?”
Betty appeared with the bodyguards and the villa staff.

Looking at the furious Margare.
sterical Elena, Betty sneered. “The Caldwell family has lived in this villa for so long, you’ve forgotten who it really belongs to?”
As soon as she said this, both Margaret and Elena’s expressions changed.
Only Alex knew the truth, and at this moment he still kept his head down, his face flushed red.
I had Betty bring over the property deed and smiled at Margaret. “When your son married me, the Caldwell Group was having cash flow problems and couldn’t afford a decent house. I was worried he’d be looked down on, so I used my old villa as our new home.”
Margaret’s face went pale instantly.
This was about Alex’s dignity, so when we got married, he begged me repeatedly not to tell anyone.

I didn’t care whether he had money or not, and I never valued property or wealth, so I agreed without hesitation.
All these years, Margaret thought she was living in her son’s mansion. Finding out the truth today was quite amusing.
“That’s impossible! The property deed is fake–she forged it!” Elena lunged forward like a mad woman, clawing wildly.
My family bodyguards immediately restrained her.
Elena screamed at Alex. “Alex, say something! You’re the president of the Caldwell Group. You must have bought this house, right?”
Alex still kept his head down without speaking.
Elena turned on me frantically. “It must be you! You tricked my brother and changed the name on the property deed. No way–I’m calling a lawyer right now to investigate you, you scheming witch.”
Slap!
Betty rushed over and smacked her across the face.
I was the eldest daughter of the elite Harrell family, and Betty was my personal housekeeper brought from the family. Before, out of respect for me, Betty had tolerated them in every way. Now that Elena dared to insult me to my face, she was asking for death.
“Alex, look! Even a housekeeper dares to hit me–call the bodyguards to get rid of her!” Elena shrieked.
Alex weakly lifted his head, not daring to meet my eyes. After a long moment, he said feebly, “Betty, why did you hit Elena?”
Betty still had some affection for him. She shook her head and said, “Mr. Caldwell, you know Ms. Harrell’s background better than anyone. I really

can’t understand–how can you just watch the Caldwell family trample on her like this? Who gave you the nerve?”
With that, Betty played the video of Elena’s self–harm from that day.
Alex watched halfway through before angrily snatching it away, smashing the phone again, and stomping on it with his foot.
Margaret actually wiped her tears while still putting on a show. “My poor precious Elena was driven to this–driven to self–harm! Victoria, what exactly did you do to her?”
Elena took the opportunity to throw herself into her mother’s arms, crying dramatically again.
Alex seemed to find some courage and walked up to me, looking deeply into my eyes. “Vicky, we’re husband and wife after all. Elena was wrong, and I apologize on her behalf.”
With that, he put on a show of bowing to me.
I quickly stepped aside, not wanting to see his hypocritical, disgusting act.
Alex straightened up, frowned, and followed me. “How about this–let Mom and Elena move to the main building, where she can recover from her injuries. I’ll go with you to the small building next door. We still need to live our lives.”
I almost laughed out loud.
I raised my hand in a gesture, and Betty threw the divorce papers at his
feet.
Alex jumped up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. “What? You want to divorce me?”
