When I lifted my eyes, I met Edward’s terrified gaze.
He smiled as tenderly as always, but his voice trembled slightly.

He let our a sigh of relief and reached out to embrace me.
“Fool, how did you let yourself end up like this? I would have been so heartbroken!”
He picked up my feet without any disgust, and the pain in his eyes didn’t seem fake.
But I knew that all of this was just an act he put on.
His heart had long been given to someone else, and both me and the children were obstacles to his pursuit of true love.
I remained silent, allowing him to search for the medicine box and patiently apply the medicine for me.
After treating the wound, he held my hand and whispered,
“Melanie, we should go to the hospital to donate blood.”
1 desperately retreated, with a hint of resistance in my bone.
“Edward, these days I have been coughing up blood, can you please not push me?”
Edward hesitated for a moment, about to speak, when his phone suddenly rang.
He turned his back to me and pressed the answer button.
The sound of Selena’s feigned weak crying came through the receiver.

After hanging up the phone, he couldn’t hide his panke in his eyes.
Without saying a word, he picked me up horizontally,
“Melanie, if you were scared, I would accompany you when getting your blood drawn.”
Although comforting words were spoken from the mouth, there was not a trace of warmth in the tone.
I didn’t strupele anymore, I just closed my eyes in despair.
He let me get into the car and we rushed to the hospital

When we arrived at the hospital, he held me and rushed crazily towards the blood drawing room.
Bampy all the way, my already weak body could no longer bear it
Before I even stepped inside, I vomited a mouthful of blood.
Edward gently wiped away the bloodstain from the corner of my mouth
He turned around and held me down, using his eyes to signal the doctor to prepare for blood extraction as soon as possible.
The cold needle pierced into my body, and I instinctively clenched Edward’s sleeve.
The intense pain coming from my heart rendered me unable to utter a single sound.
When I was in a state of confusion, I heard the doctor say with a hint of concer
“Mr. Matthews, Mrs. Matthews cannot have too much blood drawn in this situation. If we continue like this, she will die!”
Edward looked at me with cold eyes,
“Enough talking, draw as much blood–as Selena needs!”
“If it’s not enough, I will have someone bring the child as well, no matter what the cost, I won’t allow anything to happen to Selena!”
The blood in the body gradually cooled down.
In his heart, the lives of me and the children combined were not as important as his Selena.
I weakly forced out a bitter smile and let myself sink into a deep sleep,
When I opened my eyes again, I had already been taken to a regular ward.
Edward stood by the sickbed with red eyes and a worried expression on his face,
When he saw me wake up, he couldn’t help but shed tears.
