“They’re just photos, you are so clueless about real art, and you’re thinking the absolute worst.”
“Just photos?”

We’d been together for years, and Liam and I rarely even kissed, let alone anything more. I’d thought it was his way of respecting me. But turns out he was comfortable being all lovey–dovey with a friend.
It didn’t matter anymore. I was just relieved the whole charade was finally
over.
“I’m not into that kind of art, sure. You two can keep on shooting all you want,” I said, shrugging.
He either didn’t get my sarcasm or played dumb. He scoffed.
“See, that’s the problem. Sarah is way more chill than you. You can apologize to her after the wedding. Then maybe we can move on.”
I laughed, and it sounded a little bitter. “Apologize? What for?”
I couldn’t help but let the sarcasm slip out. “Am I supposed to apologize for not letting you guys take it to the next level?”
He got angry instantly.
“Chloe! You’re insulting Sarah’s craft! You need to apologize. Or else you’ll regret it!”
“Or else what? You’ll divorce me? Kick me out of the family?”
I grabbed my suitcase and started walking toward the door. “Don’t worry about kicking me out. I’m gone. You can sign the papers, give her my spot tomorrow.”
“Go on and get hitched with another artist!”
Liam watched me about to leave, and kicked my suitcase.
“I’m trying to be nice here! Stop the attitude!”

Chapter1
“If you leave now, you are out of this family for good.”
DR Thara
Liam thought I was so caught up in the money and security that I’d never leave. He was dead wrong. I was way more concerned about whether I was even a factor in his heart anymore.
And it was clear, he’d moved on.
I just wanted out, out of the cage he’d built in the name of love.
Behind me I heard the wedding photo crash and shatter as Liam was screaming at my back.
“You’re nothing but my family’s lapdog, Chloe! Leave me, leave them, and you are useless!”
I walked away quickly, but those harsh words cut deep.
The man I loved for a decade thought of me as a trained pet.
I felt so foolish, so pathetic.
Because it was true. My family name was a gift from his, and they supported me,
Everyone else looked at me and saw someone who relied on Liam and his family to be who I am.
I was a foundling, taken in by the Levis‘ family, and I started as the help.
During a birthday party I was framed for theft.
Liam was the one who found proof of my innocence, and saved me from getting kicked out.
After the party he said he liked the look of me, and wanted to make me his photography model.

He just wanted to live the life of a photographer, and create.
They knew I was in love with Liam, and that they needed a successor who would listen to them.
