Chapter 2
Priscilla paused for a moment, then continued folding clothes.
“Just tidying up my clothes.”
After getting married, scenes like this are not uncommon.
Angelo thought she was doing housework again, didn’t pay much attention, and got up to wash up.
After tidying up the last few things, Priscilla put the box back in its place, and then she heard the doorbell ring.
She didn’t know who came so early, but when she opened the door, she saw Miley.

Miley lowered her head and took out a document from her bag, “Angelo, you know, this time back home, I’ve made up my mind to get a divorce, but my case is quite difficult, no lawyer is willing to take it, can you help me?”
No sooner had the words fallen, Angelo reached out and took the documents.
“Sure.”
After that, he called the law firm partners and asked them to transfer all his current cases, as he wanted to focus solely on this divorce case.
The person on the other end of the phone was shocked, “Angelo, our law firm handles criminal cases, why…suddenly take on a divorce case?”
“Plus, after hearing the situation you outlined, the parties involved couldn’t provide strong evidence to prove that their marriage had indeed broken
down, so the court is likely to reject the divorce appeal.”
“I suggest you have your client contact a civil lawyer. They specialize in this area and it’s better to let them handle it. I’ll also say something harsh, you don’t need to risk your perfect winning record for a case that is very likely to lose, it will only lower your reputation.”
He was always giving advice, and he didn’t hide his emphasis on fame and fortune.
To make sure Miley was in the loop, the speakers were on.
She got a little flustered after listening, “Well, forget it then, I’ll go find another lawyer…”
Before she could finish, Angelo decisively said, “No need, I will take full responsibility for this case. You just focus on preparing for the tour, don’t
overthink it.”
Priscilla, watering plants on the balcony, “saw it all and listened to the whole thing. With her experience handling over a thousand divorce cases, she knew that Miley had an eighty percent chance of losing.”
Angelo had never dealt with a divorce case before this, with zero experience in the matter. Even though he was incredibly talented, he needed to first understand and familiarize himself with the relevant laws.
This took a lot of time.
And this was also an international divorce, involving numerous legal regulations between different states belonging to the country of Truonga.
So no matter how powerful he was, it was still very difficult for him to win this lawsuit.
Cases like this, which are thankless, exhausting, and likely to fail, are definitely not something the old, sensible Angelo would have taken on.
And the reason he agreed so firmly was simply because the one getting divorced was Miley.
was just his first love that he could never forget.
Priscilla looked away.
And the following week, Angelo really ditched all his work and spent all day at home flipping through various legal codes and case files.
The light in the study room was on all night.

Miley would come over every day, saying she was “checking on the progress of the case.”

“Angelo, I’m really not good at divorce cases. Why don’t you go ask your old rival Prissie? She’s very experienced. She’s handled hundreds, if not thousands, of divorce cases and won them all. She also has a lot of experience in international divorce cases. Find her, she’ll definitely give you some effective advice.”
Upon hearing this, Angelo pondered for a long time.
guess he was just too eager to help Miley get divorced smoothly. Such a proud person ended up asking someone for Prissie’s contact information.
After getting the number, he entered the digits and pressed the dial key.
