Chapter 3
The next second, Priscilla’s phone in her pocket started vibrating.
She took it out, looked at the flashing words “husband” on the screen, and didn’t answer.
The “beep beep” sound of the phone waiting to be answered kept echoing in the living room through the speaker.
Angelo frowned slightly when he made 8 calls in a row without the other party answering.
Miley handed him the coffee and comforted him softly, “Maybe Prissie is busy, that’s why she didn’t answer the phone. Let’s try again later.”
Angelo nodded, but accidentally spilled his coffee when he hung up the phone, soaking all the documents.
The tissues on the table ran out. Miley was about to get up to grab some, but then he called out to Priscilla to bring some new ones.
Priscilla picked up a package and saw “8 missed calls” on his phone screen.
Just a string of numbers, no notes.
Originally, Angelo didn’t even have her phone number saved, no wonder he didn’t find it when he just called, the person he was looking for was right
beside him.
She smiled silently, got up and went into the kitchen, made herself a simple breakfast.
After coming out with the sandwich, she saw that he had started making a phone call again, but she still didn’t answer.
Angelo got fed up and walked to the study.
“I think I changed my number, I’ll go ask someone for the contact information of Radren’s Starlight Law Firm.”
Upon hearing this, Priscilla’s eyes froze.
If he had contacted her previous law firm, knowing their gossiping nature, they would have spilled all her secrets.
And now she doesn’t want him to know those things, so she shifts her gaze to Miley.
“Ms. Garcia, I happen to know a little about the issue you want to low In Truonga’s divorce lawsuit, the plaintiff was asked to provide…”
She briefly explained the application of that law, Miley didn’t
Auto–added to the Library ly called Angelo out.
Priscilla repeated again, Angelo understood, but there were mixed emotions in his eyes when he looked at her.
“How did you know all this?”
Priscilla took a sip of milk, her voice soft.
“I graduated from the Law Department of Guplana University. Five years ago, I saw a divorce case file that was very similar to Ms. Garcia’s. At that time, the plaintiff’s appeal was rejected due to insufficient evidence chain. The lawyer used relevant provisions in international private law…”
This case was personally handled by Priscilla, so she analyzed it with ease and expertise, like a piece of cake.
Watching her talk confidently, Angelo felt for the first time that she seemed completely different from the traditional image of a good wife and mother in
his mind.
In a flash, he felt a slight tug at his heart, wanting for the first time to ask her about her past experiences.
But now is not the time to understand, time is urgent. He continued to prepare the lawsuit materials based on her suggestions.
Solved the problem, Priscilla didn’t meddle anymore.
She started looking into cases from the past few years, learning about the changing laws and regulations, getting ready to make a comeback.
Time passed day by day, she was busy improving herself, turning a deaf ear to outside matters.
She didn’t know Miley had already divorced until Angelo came to see her.
And, Miley wants to thank Priscilla for her help last time by inviting her to her piano solo concert.
“No need, just a small favor.”
Priscilla casually declined and kept flipping through her book.
Angelo walked up to her, wanting to persuade her again, but accidentally saw the side of the book she was reading, with the word “Prissie” written on it,

and he froze instantly.
“Do you like Prissie?”
Priscilla followed his gaze and realized that he had noticed her habit of marking books.
She subconsciously raised her hand to block, nodded along with his words, “Hmm.”
In the legal field, many people did see Prissie as an idol.
Afraid that he would keep asking, she changed the subject, “I was just thinking of going out for a walk to clear my mind. What time is the solo concert? I’ll change my clothes and head out.”
Luckily, Angelo didn’t ask again, just nodded and got on the car to wait for her.
When they arrived at the concert hall, Miley sent an assistant over to take them to the VIP area.
“Mr. Haley, we meet again! Over the past few years, whenever Ms. Garcia had a performance, you would always show up to support, bringing a bouquet of flowers, Miley’s favorite tulips. I used to think you were single, but I never expected you were actually married, and your wife is so gentle and beautiful, you’re really lucky.”
Priscilla listened quietly and found out that Angelo’s frequent trips abroad were not for business, but to see Miley’s performances.
She lowered her head, thinking about how every time he left the night before, she would carefully pack his luggage for him, prepare clean clothes, and Jeven prepare lots of pastries and snacks in case he couldn’t get used to the food.
She hoped he could come and go early, work smoothly, and have a safe journey all the way.
But little did he know, the only one on his mind was always Miley.
She chuckled, mocking her own foolishness and sadness.
But luckily, soon he could openly pursue the one he loved in his heart.
And she, too, regained her freedom.
