Chapter 4
In the VIP room, besides Priscilla and Angelo, there was a couple with a kid.
After the performance started, everyone was immersed in the beautiful and crisp music, even the five–year–old kids were listening very attentively.
After half of the songs, there was a twenty–minute intermission.
The kids were also letting their childlike nature out, bouncing around in the room, their voices filled with excitement.
“That sister is amazing, she can play such a difficult piece so well, how did she do it? Mom, tell me sister’s story.”
The child’s mother didn’t really understand, so she immediately opened Google and started reading out loud.
Priscilla got up and went to the bathroom. When she came back, she heard Angelo’s voice.
The information on Google wasn’t accurate. In fact, she came from a musical family and started playing the piano at the age of two. She always won first place in the competitions she participated in since she was a child. She was a once–in–a–century genius girl in the music department of Preicor University. Before graduating, she was noticed by a world–renowned piano master and taken in as a closed–door disciple.
His voice was light and gentle, but there was an unmistakable tone of admiration in his words.
The child’s eyes lit up and he grabbed his hand, shaking it.
“Bro, how do you know this girl so well? Do you like her?”
Angelo’s face froze slightly, and he didn’t say anything more.
The child’s mother also noticed something was wrong, so she quickly took the child away and gave him a few words of education.
“Helena, don’t talk nonsense, my brother is already married.”
Priscilla listened quietly, her fingers curling into a ball unconsciously.
So what if you got married?
Like is like, dislike is dislike.
Angelo never lied, so when faced with the children’s questions, his silence was already an answer.
After the second half of the show, Miley booked a restaurant to thank Angelo and Priscilla.
As they arrived at the door, Angelo and Miley ran into an old classmate.
They didn’t want to keep Priscilla waiting, so they had the boss take her to the private room first.
The boss was very friendly and chatted with her warmly.
“You’re friends with Mr. Haley and Ms. Garcia, right? They used to be regulars at our store. Don’t be fooled by Mr. Haley’s serious face, he’s actually very gentle with Ms. Garcia. She loves crab, and he would always help her peel it. When she’s drunk and wants him to carry her, he would carry her for four
hours down the mountain.”
“Ms. Garcia went abroad later, so only Mr. Haley is left here. He always orders the dishes Ms. Garcia likes, sits alone until the restaurant closes. Now that Ms. Garcia has returned to her country, they should be getting married soon, right?”
Upon hearing this, Priscilla gave a tight–lipped smile and spoke in a stiff tone.
“Maybe.”
Soon, Miley and Angelo came back too.
He ordered a table full of dishes as usual, then handed the menu to the waiter.
After the dishes were served, he put on gloves and peeled the crab, habitually wanting to put it in front of Miley.
She paused, glanced at Priscilla, and gave him a reminder.
“Priscilla came to this store for the first time, you should let her try first.”
Angelo hesitated in midair, then made a turn and handed it to Priscilla.
After getting married, Priscilla was taken care of by him for the first time, all because of Miley.
She looked at the neatly stacked crab meat on the plate, with a calm tone.

“I’m allergic to seafood, can’t eat crab meat.”
Angelo frowned, “Are you allergic to seafood? Then why do you still cook fish and shrimp often?”
“Because you liked it.”
The room fell silent, and Priscilla completed the final sentence in her heart.
And you never cared about what I like.
Seeing the atmosphere was about to cool down, Miley quickly changed the subject and tried to smooth things over.
Angelo also chimed in with her words, and the two of them chatted away.
Priscilla didn’t say a word, just sat there like an invisible person, quietly eating.
The waiter brought the crucian carp soup, and then a pair of playful kids ran over and accidentally knocked over the food cart.
A big pot of freshly cooked hot soup splashed straight towards Miley and Priscilla.
At a critical moment, Angelo instinctively pulled Miley into his arms.
“Ah!!”
Priscilla got splashed with soup all over her body, she was completely covered in steam.
Her skin was scalded bright red, with a large yellow blister forming, looking really scary.
The burning pain hit her, tears streaming down her face. Angelo’s pupils shrank, about to go check on her, when he heard Miley behind him exclaim, “Oh my!”
He immediately turned around and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Miley’s eyes turned red, “I accidentally got splashed by hot soup on my fingertips, it hurts.”
Upon hearing this, his expression changed slightly, and he immediately picked her up and said to Priscilla, “You go to the hospital yourself, Miley’s hands are for playing the piano, can’t afford any loss.”
After saying that, he didn’t even wait for Priscilla’s response, he just turned around and walked away quickly.
Priscilla watched his back, couldn’t help but tears in her eyes.
She went to the hospital alone with blisters all over her body. After treating the wounds, Priscilla stayed in the hospital to rest for the next few days. When the nurse came to do rounds, she would often gossip about some hospital rumors.
“I heard that the VIP ward is occupied by a pianist! She burned a small area on her fingertips, and her boyfriend was so worried. He invited many experts for consultation. He personally accompanied her for dressing changes and follow–up visits. He even fed her water and meals himself, fearing that any mishap would ruin her career.”
“Several times when I was on night duty, I saw him sitting by the hospital bed holding his girlfriend’s hand, gently kissing the back of her hand. The way he looked at her with such deep affection, it was hard to look away. I heard he’s a really good lawyer, and he’s so handsome. He and the beautiful, gentle pianist are really a match made in heaven!”
Priscilla listened quietly, her heart already numb, no emotions at all.
Because she was about to leave.
Because she had already let him go.
So, no matter how much Angelo loved someone else, it had nothing to do with her.
