Chapter 3
Bradley opened his mouth, about to say something, but Iris cut in before him.
“Nica, what a coincidence! How come you’re here? You didn’t follow us here, did you?”
As soon as I said that, Bradley’s expression changed instantly.
“Monica, were you following me?”
I just casually said, “I was just out running errands and happened to pass by.”
Bradley frowned and said coldly, “You’ve already resigned, so what could you possibly have to do? You’re all grown up and still lying, how interesting?”
“And who told you to follow me? You’re invading my privacy!”
“Monica, we’ve been together for years, I never expected you to not even have the basic trust in me. You really disappointed me.”
“It looks like I have to reconsider our marriage.”
Also, in Bradley’s eyes, my life always revolved around him and the company.
He always felt like he was raising me.
If he cared about me at all, he would know that I am much better than he imagines, and I even gave up a bright future for him before.
I glanced at Bradley and said nonchalantly, “No need to make it so complicated, just marry Iris. After all, you’ve already kissed, not getting married would be unacceptable, right?”
Bradley was slammed and left speechless, his face turning pale.
Iris was beaming with pride, while crazily showing off on the side.
“Nica, don’t get me wrong, I just really wanted the prize, and Brady was just trying to help. Please don’t take it to heart!”
I knew Iris was trying to provoke me on purpose.
Before, I would definitely make a scene, chasing after Bradley to give me an explanation.
Now, I just gave them a cold glance and sneered, “Bradley and I are done. Don’t tell me you just kissed, even if you had a quickie, it’s none of my
business.”
Iris was a bit surprised to see that I wasn’t angry.
Bradley’s face looked even worse.
“Monica, I already explained to you, what are you being so cryptic about?”
I couldn’t be bothered, so I just walked past him without looking back.
Just got home and received messages from Bradley one after another.
“Monica, how come you moved out from home?”
“Throwing a tantrum is fine, but there should be a limit!”
But I moved out yesterday, and he only found out today. Shows how little he cares about me.
I didn’t reply, and then I suddenly received a few reminders about family ties being untied.
In the past, Bradley and I had a good relationship, many apps were linked together, we thought we were inseparable.
No matter how loud the argument was, they wouldn’t easily break up.
But now, he just unilaterally terminated it. No need to guess, I know how angry he is now.
But it’s none of my business anymore.
The next two days, I was busy with my new job, and Bradley didn’t reach out to me either.
Just occasionally updating the dynamics with Iris, even changed some of our social media platforms‘ couple profile pictures to all black, changed the couple name, even changed the background of Instagram where our wedding photos used to hang.
I knew he was waiting for me to make the first move, but I didn’t care anymore.

By the evening of the third day, I got back home and found a box at the door with a note saying “For Monica“.
Moved back home and unpacked, inside was filled with all the little things between me and Bradley.
When we were in school, he wrote me a love letter for the first time, bought us matching couple shirts, and we took photos together on our trips…
Looking at these things, I also started to remember a lot of past scenes.
In the end, we drifted apart.
I threw them one by one into the fire pit, lit them up, and burned these old things, along with our memories.
Watching the flames devouring the flickering scenes of the past, I felt strangely calm in my heart.
Just then, the door was pushed open, and Bradley came running over in shock.
Ignoring the burns, he snatched the burning photo with his bare hands, slapped it hard, extinguishing the flames, with a stern tone.
“Monica, what did you burn these things for!”
