Chapter 14 I’m Pursuing Her
After Graciela finished reading, her mouth dropped open in shock.
This was definitely an inspiring female lead!
On the computer screen, Betty wore a faint smile on her pretty face. Those dark eyes stared at Graciela, mysterious and fascinating.
Graciela felt completely hooked.
She thought, “What a fantastic woman! I really want to be friends with her.
“It’s a shame I am not famous yet and Betty is overseas. We’ll probably never meet.
“I’ll ask Morton when he’s back. They work in the same circles.
Maybe they know each other.“”
While Graciela was living a carefree life, Leanna was having a
tough time.
She was still filming on the set, but she didn’t miss a single piece
of news about Graciela.
At first, Leanna was overjoyed. Graciela was getting slammed online, and Bryant was so mad that he was thinking of cutting her scenes.
Leanna figured Gralla Entertainment would shun Graciela for
sure.
But Gralla Entertainment took a tough stance, going head–to- head with the media.
They even released some casting news to divert public attention.
This made Leanna have to evaluate Graciela again.
Leanna thought, “Is she really just a newcomer with no background? Or is Lamar protecting her?”
At the thought of this, Leanna was devoured by jealousy.
She had only been away for five years, and there was a
newcomer by his side.
And the worst part was that the newcomer was Graciela.
Anyone would be fine, but not Graciela!
Even though Lamar had broken up with Graciela when Leanna
returned home, she could tell that Lamar’s emotions were still
affected by Graciela.
No matter what, when a man started to pay attention to a woman, it was the beginning of a story.
She had to cut off this attention. She wanted Lamar to see that Graciela was such a slut.
“Don’t be anxious,” she told herself. “There will always be a chance to bring Graciela down and keep her there.”
As she was lost in thought, her assistant rushed in with a serious face and whispered some bad news in her ear.
“What? Morrison Jewelry wants to end the contract with me?” Leanna was shocked. “Why? We’ve always worked well together! They even said they wanted to renew it just a while ago.”
“I heard it’s Mr. Morrison’s decision,” the assistant said, confused. “They posted it on their website and said they’ll explain at the
product launch at two this afternoon.”
“I want to hear what he will say!” Leanna said, clenching her
teeth.
The Morrison Group’s new product launch was held at two in
the afternoon.
The sudden news drew the attention of countless media outlets.
Leanna, who had the highest status among those developing back home, always thought she was the overseas brand ambassador for Morrison Jewelry. Morrison Jewelry wanted to expand into the domestic market, and logically, leveraging Leanna’s return would be a win–win for both parties.
But this seemingly solid plan had gone wrong. The sharp–eyed media sensed something unusual.
Maybe there was some big news coming!
When the press conference started and the newly appointed CEO entered in a dark suit, the media immediately raised their cameras, with flashes flickering and clicking non–stop.
“Mr. Morrison is so drop–dead gorgeous,” everyone thought at
the same time.
His captivating eyes made every movement of his seem graceful
and charming. But there was something more. His suit and
leather shoes gave him a sharp, business–savvy edge.
What a rich, well–bred young man!
During the Q&A session, reporters scrambled to raise their
hands.
“Mr. Morrison, do you have a girlfriend?”
“Mr. Morrison, could you please explain why you want to
replace Leanna as the brand ambassador? Is there any hidden reason?”
“Mr. Morrison, this new collection is quite different from the overseas styles. Could you talk about the design concept?”
“Mr. Morrison…”
Ambrose glanced at the Marketing Director, Dave Conrad. Dave understood and immediately signaled the reporters to be quiet.
Ambrose neatly adjusted the black button on his wrist. When the venue became quiet again, he slowly said, “First of all, thank you all for coming. To show our appreciation, we’ve prepared a small gift for each of you.”
Immediately, ladies in formal attire handed out gifts to the
reporters.
They were exquisite cufflinks, which looked quite valuable.
The reporters exchanged glances, seeing admiration in each
other’s eyes.
Ambrose said, “The Morrison Group has put a lot of effort into
this new collection. The main models were designed by me personally. Like this elegant swan, it represents pure, implicit, eternal, beautiful, and elegant love.”
“As for why we’re changing the brand ambassador,” he meaningfully looked at the reporters and said, “The reason is simple. Ms. McLean is very excellent, but her image doesn’t match my design concept.”
Hearing this, the reporters whispered to each other, their eyes showing excitement.
They thought, “Oh, my gosh! Does Mr. Morrison mean that Leanna is not as pure and good as she seems? Leanna is the dream girl in the eyes of countless men!”
A reporter couldn’t help but confirm further, “Mr. Morrison, are you saying Ms. Leanna’s innocence is just a facade?”
Ambrose smiled without saying a word, nodded to Dave, and
then left the venue under the escort of bodyguards.
Dave started to clear the venue. “Our press conference ends
here. Thank you all for your hard work.”
The venue began to get chaotic. One reporter, unwilling to give
up, chased after Ambrose. “Mr. Morrison, I have one last
question. Do you have a girlfriend?”
Ambrose stopped in his tracks.
The other reporters caught on and swarmed over, shoving their mics in his face.
Ambrose chuckled, his eyes twinkling. “I don’t have a girlfriend yet, but there’s someone I like and I’m trying to win her over.“”
The reporters immediately perked up.
“Mr. Morrison, can you tell us who this lady is?”
“I think you might know her,” Ambrose said, his eyes twinkling. “The night she finished filming, I took her to Pinnacle
Restaurant. Later, while we were walking to digest, we ran into a robber. We caught him and took him to the police station.”
Everyone was stunned by this surprise revelation.
Ambrose’s smile faded a bit, and he sounded a bit sad. “I heard
she’s with some rich guy. I wish she’d give me a chance. But I’m
just another guy wooing her. She hasn’t reached out since then!”
Then he brightened. “So, I’m asking all you guys to keep an eye out for her. She’s the most beautiful and innocent girl I’ve ever
met!”
