Austin’s face turned pale as she questioned him one after another. He kept shaking his head, wanting to say no, but she looked at his reaction and just sneered, “What, do you still want to say you love me? Loving me while having children with someone else, Austin, your love is really cheap.”
At the moment when her last words fell, his face also completely lost its color, the only thing red was his eyes, pleading with a hoarse voice for a final explanation, begging for her mercy, “I didn’t let Maggie have my child… I took her to the hospital and had that child aborted, I really know I was wrong, and I really didn’t contact her again later, Alyssa, do you believe me?”
She shook her head, with deep disgust hidden in her eyes.
“I believe you did indeed terminate her pregnancy later, and never contacted her again. But Austin, do you know, it’s because of this kind of behavior that makes people disgusted. Just lost her child, lost her job, rejected by the entire upper class circle, mocked and humiliated, not even able to finish her confinement before being driven to the streets, eventually losing her mind and only occasionally regaining clarity. How ruthless and powerful you are.”
“I hate her. No one would like a mistress who is so arrogant and shows off in front of the main wife, but compared to her, I hate you more. If you could take some responsibility, I would have given you a chance. If you could take care of her and the child in her belly, I would have respected you a little more. But you just keep shirking responsibility. You betrayed our marriage when you married me, and you used her and the child in her belly as tools for your anger.”
“But Austin, you are the one who deserves retribution the most.”
After saying these words, Alyssa did not look at his reaction again, but directly pulled Theodora away. Behind them, Austin watched the two figures gradually moving away, leaning against each other, his face as pale as paper.
For two whole years, he spent these two years relying on his longing for her, but never thought that in her heart, he would be so disgusting and repulsive.
Was he the real culprit? Was he the one who deserved to be punished the most?
But is it really so unforgivable that he only hid Maggie’s existence from her?
He never lied about loving her.
Austin didn’t know how to describe his current mood. He still couldn’t get over Alyssa, but every time he thought of the expression on her face when she left, he felt a little scared. “Would she never forgive him?”
And there was Maggie, he didn’t intend to drive her crazy, he just wanted to teach her a lesson.
Everything Maggie had was given to her by him – the favor, the money, the status, the indulgent capital he gave her, even the child was given to her by him. She made a mistake, drove away the person he loved the most, shouldn’t she be punished?
He just took back what he had given to Maggie before, how did it become “cruel” in Alyssa’s mouth?
He didn’t understand.
Not until Alyssa was completely out of Austin’s sight did she suddenly let go of Theodora’s hand.
The delicate and smooth touch slipped away from Theodora’s palm, she subconsciously tried to hold on to it by grabbing the hand, but only grasped emptiness. A feeling of loss surged in her heart, which she tried hard to suppress, preventing her expression from losing control. She only showed a hint of confusion on her face, looking at her and asking, “What’s wrong?”
She blushed, her shy appearance directly hitting his soft spot, making his heart beat faster. But her next words instantly calmed down his intense
heartbeat.
“Sorry, just now I said you were my boyfriend just as a stopgap measure, offended you, I’m very sorry.”
Understanding Alyssa’s meaning, although a little regretful, Theodora still waved her hand, “It’s okay, you said that at the time just to help me, right? Besides, it’s not gentlemanly to see a girl being harassed and not lend a hand.”
After the conversation, the two of them returned to their original way of getting along. But from the corner of his eye, he could see that Alyssa was much more relaxed when she was with him, which filled his heart with satisfaction.
