Chapter 21
Austin returned to his country that evening, arrived at Abragal, drove following the navigation to find the sanatorium where Maggie is now.
Dilapidated, dirty, and noisy, were his first impressions of the place.
Wearing a tailored suit, Austin had just stepped in when he caught everyone’s attention.
There is no other reason, his appearance is really out of place here. Most of the people who come here have little money, no family to take care of them, and cannot take care of themselves, so they are forced to be sent here.
Austin definitely didn’t look like
person.

He just casually threw a few banknotes, and all the caregivers in the sanatorium would eagerly surround him, asking who he was looking for here, and even talking to themselves that it was dirty inside, and if there was anyone he wanted to see, he could tell them and they would bring them out.
“Take me to see
”
He coldly rejected their proposal, and although he
copo walk inwardly, when
he heard the name Maggie, the caregiver responsål for der be
forward. Her shrewd eyes rolled around, trying to discern fro
his expression what kind of attitude he had towards Maggie.
After all, that Maggie was said to be not a good person either. She was originally a mistress for wealthy people and even got pregnant. Wanting to climb up the social ladder, she forced the wealthy man’s original wife out, but ended up angering the wealthy man and ended up in the current situation.
Looking at the appearance of the man in front of me, he looked more like Maggie’s previous benefactor.
If he just wanted to see how miserable Maggie is now, why did he have to come in person to see it?
She walked ahead, and couldn’t help but purse her lips.
Those lower–class people really couldn’t figure out the minds of the wealthy. “If you ask me, that benefactor isn’t a good person either.”
You said he liked Maggie, but once the truth was revealed, he could still heartlessly push Maggie to this point. You said he didn’t like Maggie, but he still got Maggie pregnant and even let Maggie drive away the original partner.
Unable to guess his thoughts, the caregiver was also too lazy to continue guessing. Not long after, he brought the person to the outside of Maggie’s room, with a flattering expression, “Maggie is inside here, on the bed by the window.”
Austin glanced at the caregiver and casually handed over several hundred–dollar bills. The caregiver was so happy that he almost couldn’t see his eyes, respectfully inviting the person inside.
Who said this boss is bad? This boss is really good.
As soon as Austin walked into the ward, he couldn’t help but frown, because most of the people there were unable to take care of themselves. Apart from those who were confused and making a lot of noise, there was also the unpleasant smell left behind by those who had urinary and fecal incontinence and were not promptly taken care of.
The bed by the window turned into a clean land, quiet and peaceful, because the owner loves cleanliness, often opens the window, and the smell has also decreased.
Just at the moment when he saw the person, he was still stunned.
With a blank expression, dry hair, and holding a pillow in his hand, although cleaner than most people in the room, he was definitely not in a good state.
She stared blankly at the world outside the window, occasionally lowering her head to nuzzle the pillow. At that moment, the only emotion in her eyes would appear, soft, loving, and radiating with maternal glow.
Until this moment, Austin finally understood the sentence Alyssa said – “he was the one who deserved retribution the most.”
When he finally left, his silhouette carried a hint of fleeing in haste. As he hurried away, he accidentally knocked over a bedpan placed at the foot of a patient’s bed, but luckily it was empty, so it didn’t make him look even more embarrassed.
But he didn’t know if it was his illusion, he always felt that there was still a slight smell on his shoes.
He focused all his thoughts on the process of his hurried escape, so naturally he did not see that, in the midst of the chaos he had caused, Maggie at the very back quietly turned around and glanced at him.
But soon, she withdrew her gaze again, as if nothing had happened.
