The Rose I Couldn’t Save 28

Chapter

Finally, Abbie was still kicked off the car

The car drove away, and she stood by the roadside, blowing the cold wind, with red eyes and tightly wrapped in a coat

There were only two months left, why couldn’t he endure such a short period of time

She laughed at herself, almost imagining how the people over at the Smith’s manor would criticize her

The road was empty, with hardly any vehicles passing by

The Smith’s manor stood alone on a mountain, nestled halfway up the slope, with a distance yet to be covered

There was no choice, Abbie had to grit her teeth and head towards the old house

Just as I had walked a short distance, it suddenly started raining

The icy rain soaked her entire body, sending chills from head to toe

I don’t know how long had passed, her feet were worn and bleeding, almost devoid of pain, she numbly continued walking forward

When Abbie arrived at the Smith’s manor, she was completely disheveled, soaked from head to toe, and continuously dripping water

Many people in the manor were attracted by her gaze, and the expressions of the crowd varied

Vincent’s father, Ricardo Smith, and mother, Mila Smith, saw her like this, and their faces looked very unpleasant

How did you end up like this? And, why did you come alone? Where is Vincent? Where did he go?”

Abbie wrapped in a towel, shivering, remained silent

Mila sighed deeply and said, Alright, alright, go change your clothes quickly, don’t stand here embarrassing yourself.”

The servant led Abbie to change clothes and blow dry her hair

Returning to the crowd once again, Mila glanced at the entrance and gave her a resentful look, as if wishing she could turn iron into steel

I don’t care about how you usually behave, but today is a family banquet, and all the extended families are here. If you show up alone, are you trying to tell everyone that your marriage is not harmonious, that you can’t even hold onto your husband’s heart, and intentionally embarrass the Smith family?”

Abbie just kept her head down in silence, quietly listening to the scolding, enduring the disdainful gazes and the voices of gossip from those around her

The torment lasted for over an hour, and Vincent finally appeared. Instantly, everyone fell silent

He came, but he was accompanied by Liana

Liana smiled sweetly, clutching Vincent’s sleeve, leaning on him affectionately

In an instant, people around looked at Abbie, and many of them even showed a hint of sympathy in their eyes

Liana, you sat next to me

Vincent, however, ignored it and had the servant add a chair next to his position, along with a set of cutlery

The position of each person at the family banquet was fixed, which undoubtedly was a slap in Abbie’s face

She lowered her head and held the fork, with a forced smile on her face

Vincent seemed oblivious to the undercurrents as he nonchalantly served Liana, peeling shrimp and serving her food

You loved eating seafood the most, and these flavors should have suited your taste.”

The bowl in front of Liana kept piling up higher and higher. She shyly said, Enough, Vincent, I can’t finish it. You don’t need to serve me anymore.”

Upon hearing these words, he stopped

Due to pregnancy, the taste of seafood became particularly sensitive at this time

With the smell of sea breeze penetrating her nostrils, Abbie stopped her fork. Her stomach churned, and the sour water refluxed, causing extreme discomfort

For the first time, she rudely dropped the fork, covered her mouth, and rushed to the side, continuously retching

Tears welled up at the corner of the eyes, sparkling. The face turned red, and the hand pressed tightly against the chest, leaning against the wall and
