Chapter 16
It had been a long time since Greg had heard Liora’s name, and his heart skipped a beat.
A few seconds later, he suddenly looked up and said, “What did you say? Is there any news about Liora?”
Over the past two years, he has not stopped inquiring about Liora’s whereabouts.
He knew that Liora must have found a bigger backer than the Alston family in order to constantly block their investigations.
The secretary nodded and handed over the phone: “Ten minutes ago, someone in New York uploaded a video of Ms. Calden receiving an award. Although the video was deleted two minutes later, our people have already saved the original video.”
“With this video, perhaps we could find out the whereabouts of Ms. Calden.”
Greg took the phone with trembling hands, and after confirming multiple times that the person in the video was Liora, he finally showed a faint smile, which he hadn’t done in a long time.
He picked up his coat from the side and strode towards the door, saying, “Continue the investigation, I’ll take a plane to New York first.”

Greg had just arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport when he received the address of the research institute from his secretary. However,

Greg did not go there directly.
He first went to buy the Hermes bag that he had promised to buy for Liora after paying off the debt, but he never bought it.
I went and bought over ten sets of high–end luxury brand clothes and shoes, as well as a two–meter diameter large bouquet of roses.
Next, he chose a white suit that Liora used to like seeing him wear.
During those three years of dating, although he did not have genuine feelings, he did take the time to truly understand Liora’s preferences.
On the way to the research institute, Greg’s mind was filled with many scenes of when he had met Liora.
Perhaps Liora, upon seeing him, would hysterically hit him, curse at him, and angrily demand why he lied to her.
But with Liora’s gentle nature, she was likely to just stare at her with red eyes, not saying a word.
Or maybe… Two years passed, Liora may have calmed down and missed him…
However, Greg never expected that as soon as he got out of the car, he

Carrying her bag, Liora ran out of the research institute.
She looked radiant, her light blue dress flowing in the wind as she smiled and waved at the tall man waiting at the door.
The last rays of the setting sun fell on the man, his features delicate, his eyes deep and mysterious, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

Liora ran up to the man and he immediately embraced her in his arms.
The man lowered his head, lightly tapping the back of her head, and dominantly kissed her lips.
Greg’s face darkened suddenly, an unnamed anger burning in his chest as he shouted, “Who are you? Let her go!”
Nathan turned around and his gaze fell on Greg, his eyes cold.
His gaze fell on Liora, and with just one look, she knew what he wanted to ask.
Liora lightly held his hand, fingers intertwined, with a calm expression: “He is Greg, don’t mind him.”
With that, she looked at Greg and said expressionlessly, “Let me introduce you to my boyfriend, Nathan.”
Greg watched as the two of them held hands tightly, then met Liora’s cold gaze. He felt a tightness in his chest and an inexplicable sense of
irritation.
In the past, whenever Liora saw him, she always had a smile on her face.
Greg suppressed his frustration and said in a deep voice, “I know you’re still mad at me, but you can’t just find a boyfriend to make me jealous!”
“Leave him now, come back to Davis with me, I will take good care of you.”
In one sentence, Nathan’s face turned several degrees colder, with a hint of sarcasm curling his lips.
The first time, he hated himself for not being able to speak!

Liora soothingly rubbed his hand and looked coldly at Greg, “I have nothing to do with you anymore.”
She didn’t break up with Greg at that time because she felt that his actions. over the past three years didn’t deserve to be considered her boyfriend.
Greg’s heart skipped a beat, his voice trembling as he said, “I can explain what happened before. I was deceived by Talia.”
“I was the victim, Liora.”
“I don’t want to know anything about the love–hate relationship between you and Talia.”
Liora calmly looked at Greg.
“From the moment you deliberately approached me, you should have known that no matter whether Talia’s lies would eventually be exposed, we could never make it to the end.”
To be honest, Greg was the first man she fell for after growing up. At that time, she was so innocent that she even thought about getting married without a dowry.
Her close friends all thought she was silly and called her “love–brained“. But she always believed that as long as the two of them worked hard, their days would definitely get better and better.
However, reality dealt her a heavy blow.
During the nights she spent in the hospital, she had doubted herself, hated herself, and even loathed the world.
She couldn’t understand why she had to go through all this. She even thought several times about jumping from the hospital room.

And all of this, all because Greg deceived her!
“Give me one more chance, I will treat you well, I can give you anything you want, Greg pleaded humbly, his voice hoarse.”
Liora shook her head, her words causing Greg’s heart to sink deeper and deeper: “Greg, no matter what you do, I will not forgive you, let alone start over with you.”
“We were destined to be enemies! Liora ignored Greg’s pale face and took Nathan’s hand, walking straight past Greg.”
Greg instinctively tried to grab Liora.
Nathan dangerously squinted his eyes and reached out to block Greg’s hand.
Greg could only stand in place, watching helplessly as Liora got into Nathan’s car.
The next day, Greg managed to buy the villa next to Nathan’s.
It was the weekend, Nathan took Liora shopping in the afternoon.
Greg drove reluctantly behind the two of them.
In the car, Liora looked at the black sedan in the rearview mirror and furrowed her brow. “He’s following us. Should we go home first?”
While waiting at the red light, Nathan quickly typed a line on his phone: “It doesn’t matter, just let him go, as long as he doesn’t run away at the last minute.”
