Chapter 9
Grayson’s POV
My fists clenched as I fought to control the storm raging inside me.
The wolf in me was restless–pacing, snarling, furious.
It couldn’t stand the stench of this room, the scent of lies, the insult from a low–ranking Beta like Tobias.
My father, Alpha Declan, cleared his throat, trying to ease the tension
we move the bonding ceremony to next month. We’ll
“Grayson was careless,” he said, diplomatic. “But the child exists now. We can’t ignore that. I say we m cover all expenses. Tobias, what do you think?”
Hold on.”
Iyanked the covers off and sat up, my eyes locked onto Piper like knives,
“Say something Go on—tell them what we agreed to. You said you’d raise the baby on your own, that you wouldn’t interfere with me and Amber,”
Piper kept her head down, pretending to be timid, her voice barely louder than a whisper. “L… I never said that. You made me promise… I didn’t want to…
Smack-
-a slap cracked across my face before I even saw it coming.
Pain exploded across my check, hot and stinging
“You think you can just use my daughter for fun and leave her to raise a child alone?!” Tobias bellowed, eyes burning with rage. “She’s not some toy for Alpha brats to play with! Alpha Declan, if you don’t handle this, I swear I’ll bring it to the Elder Council!”
He stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
Silence swallowed the room whole. No one said a word. Even my mother, who had always defended me, kept her head down.
1 let out a dry, bitter laugh and licked the blood from my lip.
-Piper,” I said slowly, coldly, “you’d better explain what the hell you’re talking about. When exactly did I force you?”
She pressed her lips together, but the act was over. She finally lifted her head and met my gaze–eyes full of something that made my stomach turn. Longing? Hurt? Bitterness?
“Grayson,” she whispered, “can we stop pretending we’re just friends? I’ve loved you for years. Being your ‘friend‘ was the only way to You cared about me too didn’t you? If you didn’t, that night never would’ve happened.”
She gently touched her stomach, reminding me of the cost.
I felt sick, like something vile had clawed up my throat.
way to stay close to you.
“Amber’s already sealed the bond with another Alpha,” she added softly. “Why can’t you and I be together now? Doesn’t that make more sense?” My mind went blank.
For a moment, it was as if someone had thrown me into a thunderstorm and cut the ground from beneath me.
I stared at the girl I’d grown up with That night.
the woman I thought I knew. And for the first time, I truly saw her.
That night was the most disgusting, humiliating moment of my life.
And I had no one to blame bunt myself. I’d betrayed Amber,
My voice came out low and harsh, barely more than a growl “Get out”
Piper flinched “Grayson, you were happy with me! Amber always made you angry, always pushed you away. Think about it. Think about who you really
care for.”
glared at her, every syllable laced with steel.
“I will never love y
e you, you’re just like a man.”
Her entire body froze.
She had planned everything–played the victim, played the friend, played me. But she’d forgotten the one truth that mattered: I never even considered
crossing that line with her.
Humiliated and shaking, she burst into tears and ran out of the room.
I watched her leave, then ripped the TV from my hand. Blood beaded instantly, soaking into the sheets.
The wolf inside me roared, wild and untamed, begging to be let loose.
I couldn’t stay here another second. I had to find Amber. Now. Not tomorrow. Not later. Now.

Omega My Luna. My mate
I didn’t care who she was with now–I’d tear the world apart if I had to, but I’d get her back.
Even if I had to rip through every territory in the wolf realm, I’d make Amber mine again.
