Chapter 7
The next day, when I went to get the divorce certificate, Zayn didn’t show up at the courthouse. Instead, Bethany came with Natalie.
As soon as they saw me, Bethany tried to slap me again.
I quickly turned my head to avoid her hand.
‘You evil woman! I always knew you were up to no good, but I didn’t expect you to be this greedy. On the first day of marriage, you tricked Zayn into signing a divorce contract and made him leave with nothing!
“I’ve already hired the best lawyers. You won’t get away with taking advantage of my family. You’re going to jail!”
Natalie added, “Madam Lloyd, she even made Zayn drop to his knees and forced him to make me abort our baby–your grandson.”
Bethany got even angrier and tried to hit me again. “You can’t have a child of your own, but you want to kill Natalie’s? How cruel can you be!”
My lawyer stepped in and held her hand down calmly. “For professional reasons, I always record conversations.
“What you just said counts as defamation.
“If Ms. Jimenez decides to sue, you’ll be the ones facing jail time.”
Natalie shielded Bethany like a loyal follower.
“Madam Lloyd, look how he defends Eleanor. Maybe something is going on between them.”
didn’t get mad at her rude comment. Instead, I smiled and said to
Bethany, “If you’re unhappy with the property division and want to go to court, I’m ready.
“With so many shares, you’ll always know if I try to sell them. Don’t worry. I won’t disappear.
“But what you need to focus on is giving your grandson a legal identity. If not, everyone will know he’s the result of his father’s cheating once her. pregnancy becomes obvious. That wouldn’t look good.”
Bethany was so angry that she staggered back.
Natalie couldn’t hide her smile and even looked thankful to me.
Maybe because of Bethany’s pressure, Zayn agreed to marry Natalie a few days later.
A new idea for revenge crossed my mind.
On the day they got married, I waited outside City Hall holding a bouquet.
When Zayn saw me, he looked like he had been wronged badly, and his eyes turned red.
“Eleanor, are you angry because I broke my promise?
“I swear, I married her only to give the child a name. I won’t touch her again.”
I handed him the flowers and smiled calmly.
“Don’t be nervous. I’m just here with a wedding gift. Congratulations.”
I was actually congratulating him on becoming a father and getting stuck
in trouble..
Zayn suddenly started crying. “Do you not even hate me anymore?”

I thought for a moment and answered seriously, “Not really.”
Then, I gave him Natalie’s medical records.
“Did you know? The day before our wedding, Natalie had surgery to repair her hymen. And that was her third time having surgery.
“I don’t mean anything else. I just want to remind you to get a checkup when you can.
“Also, after the baby is born, you should do a paternity test.
“It’s not easy to hold onto your mother’s shares, after all.”
Seeing the disgust on his face, I left without looking back.
Zayn watched me go, tears streaming down his face.
He kept asking, “Eleanor, do you hate me that much?”
The answer was yes.
