Chapter 2 Let’s Meet
Eva had been working nonstop for days at the company, but instead of receiving the divorce agreement from Sean, she was met with a series of debt collectors.[]
The company had some issues, and before her grandfather passed away, he had borrowed from anyone he could to try and save it, accumulating a large amount of debt.]
Despite all that, he still couldn’t turn things around. In the end, exhausted and drained, he collapsed at the company.[]
He never woke up.
Through this, Eva came to see the true nature of human relationships.[]
She made herself a cup of coffee, and as she brought it to her desk, the door to the office was pushed open.
Michael walked in, sighing.[]
“Michael, how did it go? Did they leave?” Eva took a deep breath and put the coffee down.[]
“They left, but they’ll be back,” Michael shook his head in resignation.[]
The debt collectors weren’t so easy to deal with.]
Eva lowered her gaze, slowly nodding.
After a few seconds of silence, she lifted her head and looked at him, her eyes firm, “Michael, help me calculate all the debts, and also…” She paused, then continued, “Can you help me draft a divorce agreement?“]]
Michael opened his mouth, not sure what to say at first.]
“I’ll go find Sean later. Don’t worry, I’ll find a way to pay off all the debts.”
if the money can’t be paid, the company might face bankruptcy or be divided up, No matter what, the company was her grandfather’s lifelong work.[]
When the divorce agreement was finally placed on the desk, Eva stared at the words “Divorce Agreement” and couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness.
She took the pen and carefully signed her name, one stroke at a time.
Dropping the pen, she took a deep breath and dialed the number.
Sean’s number had been sitting in her contacts for three years with no communication. Many times, she thought about deleting it, but she just couldn’t bring herself to.
To her surprise, the call was picked up very quickly.[]
“Hello…” Sean’s voice came through the phone, calm as always.]
“It’s me, Eva.”
“I know,” Sean’s voice remained composed. After a pause, he finally asked, “What’s up?”
“I want to meet with you. Is it convenient?
Chapter 2 Let’s Meet
When Eva asked this, she felt a sudden wave of sadness, almost wanting
to cry,
but she held it in.[]
“Sure, come over,” Sean said, his voice as indifferent as ever. 0
Sean had always been indifferent towards Eva. When she told him she liked him, his response was just as indifferent. Even when he was forced into marriage, he didn’t hate her with fury or yell. He left without saying a word.]]
But now, it didn’t matter anymore.[]
The hardest time was already over, the time when Sean left.[]
Sim
Eva looked around Sean’s office. This was the first time she had been here.
Sean ran his fingers across the desk a few times before moving to the other side, sitting down in the office chair.[]
“What do you want to talk about?”
Despite being married, there was an awkward distance between them.[]
Eva lowered her head, took the divorce agreement out of her bag, and pushed it directly in front of
Sean
“I’ve signed it.”
