Eva woke up to the smell of disinfectant filling her nose.

An IV was still attached to her hand, and she was alone in the hospital room. She turned her head and looked out the window, not knowing what time it was.

Lily scooped some porridge and brought it to Eva’s mouth, signaling her to eat.[]

“Just rest for a couple more days. The doctor said they need to observe you further. Besides, you still need a few more
days of IVs.”
As she spoke, Lily threw the take–out container from the porridge in the trash and smiled at Eva. They both tactfully avoided mentioning Sean.
When Sean had come to sign the papers, Eva had been in so much pain that she hadn’t paid attention to much else.[]
“I want to go home and rest,” Eva looked at Lily and added a little whine.]]
Though resting at home was almost the same as at the hospital, seeing Eva like this, Lily couldn’t help but smile and shake her head.[]
“I know you too well. You’ll go straight back to the company once you’re discharged, won’t you?”
Eva had glanced at her phone earlier, and Lily had noticed the worry.[]
I’ve already talked to Micheal. He’ll let you know if anything comes up. For now, just focus on resting.“[]
“Okay,” Eva nodded but still looked at Lily with a pitiful gaze. “I will rest, but I want to go home.”

“I can come back on time for my injections, but I want to sleep in my own bed.“[]
Eva didn’t like the atmosphere of the hospital. She had barely survived there once, and her grandfather had passed away in a hospital as well. It made her uneasy. Only at home did she feel safe.[]
Lily could tell what Eva was thinking without her saying anything.[]
With a soft sigh, Lily smiled helplessly. “Alright, I’ll go ask the doctor again.“[]
As Lily left the room to speak with the doctor, Eva smiled slightly.[]
She was down to nothing, living in this messy state, but at least sh

Just then, her phone buzzed in her hand.[]
Eva looked up from the door and glanced at the screen.[]

After a few seconds of silence, Eva spoke, “I just wanted to say thank you for that day, I’m really sorry for the trouble. Also, Lily went to ask if I could be discharged. I should be able to go home tomorrow, I…“[
“I’ll come see you tomorrow,” Sean spoke before she could finish.[]
