Chapter 22 Drive My Car
War
Sean cooked a few light dishes, made soup, and porridge, all of which Eva could eat.[]
THE
Moreover, Sean’s cooking skills were quite good. Though not comparable to a five–star chef, for home–cooked meals, they were more than enough.
Eva still couldn’t eat too much, so after having a few bites, she put down her chopsticks.[]
They sat across from each other, waiting for Sean to finish eating.
Sean ate quietly.
Sean had always been quiet. Ever since Eva met him, he seemed to be a very quiet person.
T
Whether happy or angry, he showed no emotion, distant and indifferent
everything.
When she liked him, his response was quiet. After their unpleasant marriage, Sean remained silent. Even now, having returned, he was still a man of few words.[]
He didn’t speak much, and his expressions were rarely revealed. Many times, Eva couldn’t even tell whether he loved her or hated her.[]
“Do you need help washing the dishes?” After Sean put down his chopsticks, Eva asked.]
“In the future, yes. But not now, you should rest,” Sean looked up at her and said lightly over
After saying that, Sean stood up and took the dishes to the kitchen.[]
Watching his efficient movements, Eva thought that his claim of cooking for himself while abroad must have been true. He was clearly familiar with the kitchen.[]
Once Sean finished tidying up the kitchen, he returned to grab his suitcase and moved it into the guest room.[]
Eva watched him enter the kitchen, and after a moment of silence, she also got up. She went to Sean’s door, knocked twice, then said, “There are bed linens in the cabinet. You can handle it yourself. I’m going to bed now.“]
“Okay,” Sean turned and nodded at her.
Eva returned to her room, took a shower, and lay down on the bed.[]
She lay there, struggling to sleep. Despite trying not to think too much, her emotions were hard to control.
She had never imagined that one day, after Sean left, she would be living under the same roof as him again.[]
She had dreamed once, thinking that after marriage, she would truly have Sean, but later, she found that things didn’t go as planned, and after the hardships, she had let go.]
Now, she was very clear–headed, understanding what was most important to her and how to avoid harm. Love was the most dangerous thing in the world.[]
The next day, when Eva woke up, she heard sounds from the living room and then realized, just a wall separated her from Sean.]
After washing up, she left her room, and Sean was already sitting at the dining table.]
“Good morning,” Eva greeted him first.
“Good morning.” Sean turned to look at her, smiling, then glanced at the food on the table. “I made breakfast, come eat something.”
“Okay,” Eva nodded, walking over to the table and sitting across from Sean.
Sean looked at her, took a car key out of his pocket, and pushed it toward Eva. I called my assistant to pick me up. You can leave the cat here for now. If you need to go out, feel free to use my car.”
Dva looked at the food on the table, then glanced at the car key pushed toward her. She shook her head and smiled. “No need. You give me the car, the money, and everything else. You’re treating it all like marital property. We’re just temporarily living together. What’s yours is yours, and everything will be returned to you later.“]
“When the divorce is finalized, or when you’ve earned the money, we can settle everything.“]
Sean smiled, his smile tinged with helplessness. It seemed Eva had already made up her mind to divorce him.]
