Chapter 28 Saving a Lot of Trouble
Eva’s claim that she didn’t have many things was far from accurate.
There were quite a few items in the storage room, and Sean took quite a while to find what he was looking for.[]
When Sean came out of the storage room holding the item, Eva was already leaning on the sofa, having finished reading almost half of a book.
“Here,” Sean placed a small box on the coffee table in front of Eva, followed by two small notebooks.[]

Eva lowered her gaze, glanced at the box, and then her eyes landed on the two notebooks.
She smiled lightly, picked up one of the notebooks, dusted it off, and looked at Sean. “You found the marriage certificate? Good thing, now I won’t have to go looking for it later.“[]
She might have only just realized that, when the time comes for their divorce, she would still need that certificate.[]
“Well, you can keep it for now…” Sean glanced at her, somewhat helpless, then picked up the box, opened it, and took out the ring inside.[]
The size was proportional to both of them, but it wasn’t really the style he preferred. Everything back then had been hurried and perfunctory.
Sean spun the ring around in his hand before slipping it onto his ring finger. He opened his hand, looked at it, but his expression didn’t change much.
However, when he looked up, he met Eva’s gaze. After a brief silence, he casually took out the other ring and handed it to Eva. “Do you
need it?”
Eva lowered her gaze at the ring handed to her. She swallowed hard, but still smiled and shook her head. “No, just put it back.“[]
Sean lowered his gaze, placed the ring back into the box, and then put the box into the drawer under the coffee table.[]
“Alright, rest well. I’m heading to work now.“[]
Sean stood up decisively and walked toward the door.
When Sean went downstairs, Quincy was already waiting for him. Seeing him, Quincy hurriedly opened the car door.]
“Thanks for yesterday,” Sean glanced at him as he got into the car, referring to the ride back the previous night.]
“No problem, it’s my job,” Quincy smiled and quickly got into the driver’s seat, buckling up. He looked at Sean again. “Mr. Shaw, straight to the office?”
“No, take me to Mr. Ford’s place first.“]
“Okay,” Quincy nodded, and soon the car started.]
When Sean arrived at Nathan’s office, Nathan was in a meeting. Nathan’s assistant showed him to the office to wait. After making coffee for him, the office was left with just Sean.[]

He walked around the office a few times, holding the coffee and observing the space. Nathan’s office had a nice decor.[]
When he had almost finished his coffee, Nathan came back from the meeting. As he approached the door, his voice came first. “Old Shaw, what brings you here today?“]
Just as his voice fell, the office door was pushed
Sean raised his coffee cup and smiled. “So, are you welcoming me or not?”
“Of course, welcome,” Nathan said, closing the door behind him and walking over to Sean.]
However, Nathan’s eyes were mostly on the ring on Sean’s finger. “What’s this? Remarried
Nathan raised an eyebrow and smirked, looking at the ring on Sean’s finger.

“Found it from Eva,” Sean said casually, lifting his hand and smiling. “I’ve realized that these days, business talks and the drinking culture aren’t great.” He shook his hand with the ring on it, continuing with a smile, “This way, it saves a lot of trouble.“[]
