Then he Came 3

Then he Came 3

Chapter

I slept straight through until the middle of the nightthen hunger woke me up

When I stepped out to find something to eat, I was shocked to see Asher had come back

Ever since he bought that lury pack house for Amy, he’d been living with her. She cooked for him, made him laugh, waited for him to come home

He seemed happy. It had been a long time since he last returned here

He was lounging lazily by the floortoceiling windows, a cigarette between his lips, staring at me intently

I kept my eyes down and walked past him, only for him to suddenly reach out and grab me

Frowning, he asked softly, Why have you lost so much weight?”

His tone was gentle, like he still loved me

I froze for a moment, then yanked my hand away and said coldly. That’s none of your business.”

He glanced at his nowempty hand, and the warmth in his face slowly faded into something colder

When I got to the dining table, I noticed something sitting therean entire cake, lit with candles. That was when I realized the mind link I’d thought was a dream actually wasn’t

I had said I wanted calor

So Asher bought one

What was this supposed to mean? A truce

But I was already dying. I didn’t need a cake anymore

And I didn’t need Asher, either

Without hesitation, I grabbed the cake and threw it straight into the trash

Asher clenched his jaw, his molars grinding. Then he pinned me against the wall with one hand

His pupils glowed goldena sign he was about to shift. His voice was sharp, feral

Cord, have you had enough of this tantrum?”

I laughed and admitted, unbothered. Asher, is this really the first time you’ve realized I have a temper? You bought me a cake just because I said I wanted one. God, you’re still the same pathetic idiot,”

I deliberately hurt him right where it hurt the most

His face turned icy

He crushed the cigarette in his hand, grabbed me by the wrist, and dragged me into the bedroom. Then he threw me down on the bed. He must free completely snapped. His wolf had taken overhe yanked at my nightgown, roughly ripping it apart with no hesitation. Terror surged through me. I clenched my fists and struck him, yelling, You bastard, Asher! Don’t touch me! You disgust me!”

He pinned my legs so I couldn’t struggle and lowered his head to bite my neck. The pain made my tears spill instantly

His breath brushed my ear as he growled, Cora, can’t you just give in for once?”

Do you even know how long I’ve been waiting for you to comfort me?”

Do you know how happy I was when you said you wanted cake?”

And the truth was you just played me like a foul!”

He lifted his head, eyes bloodshot, staring straight into mine

Theld back my tears and glared right back at him

The room was dim. Neither of us spoke. Neither of us was willing to back down

Asher leaned down, closing in. His lips were almost on mine when his phone suddenly rang Cuper

It was Amy

He paused, then answered

d it anyway

I heard her sobbing through the phone, her voice full of fear

Alpha, have you abandoned me? You obviously like me,”

I’m at a bar right now. I drank a lot. Some rogue keeps bothering me”

I’m scared. Can you come get me? Please

Asher didn’t answer right away. His gaze remained locked on me as he gave me a cold smile

Then he demanded, soft but sharp, Cora, beg me,”

Beg me to stay. If you do, I won’t leave.”

He seemed to have forgotten

There was a time, long ago, when I had lowered my pride and begged him

Asher, can we just sit down and talk like adults?”

Can we stop fighting?”

Can we just try to be peaceful when we are together?”

Can you please be a little kinder to me?”

Back then, Asher stared at me with icy eyes and smiled as he replied

Cora, you’re not worth it

Those words shad

d pierced me and stayed buried in my chest

But now, finally I had the chance to return them

I grabbed him by the collar and stared him in the eye

One word at a time, I said, Asher, you’re not worth it.”

He fell silent for a moment

Then he let out a hollow laugh, mocking himself

He brought the phone back to his ear and told Amy

I’m coming to get you.”

Without sparing me another glance, he stood up, slammed the door behind him, and left

Then he Came
